Hey there RIU. I am going to be starting up some what of a journal. More like a thread to try to get answers when need be and also to show my progress. This will be my first grow on my own so its going to be a wild one.

This past weekend a custom box was built that measures 4x4x5 plus a 2x4x3 connection the bigger area will hold the mommas and that little 2x4 area will be for fresh cuttings and early veg as well.

I am putting together all the key components for this grow to be successful. I have been picking TLD mind to get some good ideas of what direction I want this grow to go in.

I am not sure of exactly when everything will be in place due to some unexpected expenses.

Thanks again for the BBQ and Lesson on box making too...oh yea cannot forget the great looking smelling tasting weed either. PK is really good for the muchies too lol

So I had some seeds left over from a nice headband/Blueberry sack I had. I threw them into some water gave it maybe a day and a half and now I have 9 seeds in some FFOF 7of them were put in soil yesterday and the other two were put in today. They are on their way. Pretty excited about it

So these pics are all over the place..... they are anywhere from 1st day put into the ground to today. Box is going up slowly but surely.
Babies are coming along. I am left with 5 good ones and two not so good.
Looked at the root ball today and roots have just started making it to the perimeter of the cups.
I want to get this box and light up so I can give the babies (hopefully ladies) more light. I think they might be small since they only get about 10 hours of true sunlight....
Thats about all for now. Hope everyone likes the pics.

TLD I left you something over in our other spot.

Box was set up today. Its just about done just need to put one side on. The plants are almost one month old since plant. 5 of them look healthy and there is just a little runt that will not make it through.
I think I will top at least two of the plants.
Within the week I think I will have to transplant a couple of them, hopefully.
couple of questions: since plants have been out side should I gradually bring them into the mh?
Should I start giving nutrients? I was thinking wait at least a week before any veg nutes are put into it.

Have a couple of pics for everyone.

You can just stick them under the MH. Only when going from indoors to outdoors has there ever been issues. I'd hold off on nutrients for at least a week. **Depending on what type of soil you have used.** If there is any trace nutrients already in the soil then that should get them along nicely. On the other hand if you used a straight neutral soil then you can safely give them 1/4 strength doses per gallon.

Hope this helps. :leaf:

Having trouble keeping the temps down in my room.
Any advice? cash is kinda short right now, keep that in mind.
For a final solution I just want to get a window ac unit' I hear they are around 100bucks..........

if your having temp issues, are you running your light cycle at night? is there a fan in there? whats the room temp? if you've got an a/c running you can slightly crack a window open and that'll push some hot air out... not very energy efficient lol but it gets the job done until you can do something else...

For controlling the temps in my grow room ive shut the dampers of all the other rooms in the house and am pumping all the air into the grow room until I can get my exhaust fan...

Light cycle is not at night right now due to the box not being totally closed....yet. I have 3 fans in the room one right by the babies, 1 right above my light and 1 on the other side of the room. I know the air circulation is good in there. All the dampers are closed in the house except the grow room and the living room.....temps are about 90-96 right at the plants and entire room sits about 90 right now. Its just entirely to hot in there! uugghhh
thanks for the advice....

Plants are doing pretty good up to this point. Tried to fim them did a piss poor job on them except for one. :? Took a day for them to get their vigor back but look healthy. Watering every 3-4 days depending on the soil. I have given them one feeding of Grow It Green from BMO and a couple of waterings with Super Plant tonic in it also from BMO. I picked up some bio bizz all mix too.
The temps have gone down due to me running the light at night now. Id say its about 82-92 little hot but plants are doing just fine no signs of heat stress. One plant does look to have a little trace of light burn. I have it about 11" from the top of the canopy.
Humidity is low though around 35% anybody have thoughts on that???
They are getting bigger every time I go in there and look at them; I love it. I would hope to say that in about 2 weeks I should start seeing signs of their sex.....:-| I would like to actually get a girl in this grow already! It will come it will come. Started some more bag seeds last night just threw them in some water. I checked them tonight and nothing yet.

I have some pics right down there. First 3 are with the lights on and the last 4 are with the lights just starting to come on.

Feed two of the 5 plants today gave them some FF Grow big and also some CaMag both at 1/4 str. Other 3 plants look like they could go another day or two even. The runt will get transplanted tomorrow. I have one other seedling going it looks good. I also have some seeds germinating and I should be putting them into soil in the next couple of days...Im excited how things are starting off.
Its official I have two girls, both are those ones I was hoping were going to be girls. One of the pics that has a hand behind a leaf is a girl and the tallest plant is the other girl. One looks to be shorter and stocky the other looks to be taller I think I might have to LST the taller one to try to keep the canopy even.
Check out the pics tell me whatcha think!:weed::weed::weed:

Thanks for the help.

Looks good. Are you sure they are females? It usually takes a while in veg to really show definative sings of sex. Anyway, glad to hear you go those temps under control As for humidity, under 40% is a little low. I use a humidifier when my huidity gets that low in veg. In flower lower is better than higher, but I like to run between 40-50 in flower and 50-60 in veg. I haven't ever gorwn in soil indoors,so I am not much help in that department. I would pay attention to the leaf color though to let the plants tell you if they are getting too much or not enough nutes. When the leaves get too green back off a bit, and when they get pale they are hungry. If you used a high nutrient soil you may not have to feed for a few weeks.

Thanks raider. At this moment a humidifier is not in the near future. I am going to have to do something else for that.
And as for the plants showing signs of sex a couple of them are. Ill try to take pics tonight when the lights are on.... Im positive I see the two white hairs...

Bought some panda film to line the inside of the 4x4 room. Some root cubes to do some cloning in the next week. Plans have changed a little bit Ill talk more about that tonight. I am going to have an update with pics and all. Plants are doing good up to this point. They are about 5 or 6 weeks old now.......
Im excited everything is moving in the right direction. Still have a lot to learn and Im on my way now!

Plants 1,5 were watered today with 1/4 str Super Plant tonic. 2,3,4 were all feed today with 1/4 grow big and 1/4 FloraNova Grow. It looked like plant 2 should of been feed yesterday. It was droopy before it was feed and then perked up real nice. I will be doing some trimming within the week. Clean up all the foliage that will soon be to far from the light to be significant. I want to get some where around 10 clones I am crossing my fingers though on that. Humidity is still low and the average temp in the room is still to high.

I have some pics of the garden. Oh yea I forgot to mention I am going to need some odor control soon here. Plants are starting to smell good. Puts a smile on my face when I walk in on them.

I really wouldn't sweat over the humidity dude, people really do fuss these plants to much lol my plants have all kind of temps and humidity thrown at them and they do perfect :) im talking temps way over 100 and humidity down to 20 sometimes and they are always happy, the thing they that really slows them down are low temps

Did some Lst in the garden today filled out more horizontal space. Not much more than that to report...

Hopefully you guys like the pics half as much as I like the plants.

Been super busy with life lately. Got some things going on that have taken attention away from this site. I am glad to say that I took some cuttings yesterday, 12 to be exact. While I was doing this I saw that one plant may be of a different pheno type. I just cant wait to get these girls flowing! Hopefully within the next 10 days I can start to veg those cuttings and 2 weeks after that flip them to 12/12. My ultimate goal is have a SOG grow. This is the start of that, I want to be able to harvest every 3 weeks so two weeks from now I will be doing some more cloning.

Due to only having a 400w to flower with I want to keep the plants small and have more colas to work with instead of growing fewer plants that are bigger. I am already starting to see that as these plants get bigger the foilage underneath is going to be engulfed and die off or produce under developed buds. I dont want that now.
Hopefully in the next couple of days I will be reporting on the clones and how they are coming along
