New AeroGarden cupboard grow

Hi guys a friend and myself had been reading up about growing our own mj and we decided that the aerogarden was the best option for us. We are both still living at home but my mate has a room in his house with a cupboard (closet if ur american ;)) that we are in the process of converting for holding our new AeroGarden.

We have the basic aerogarden 7 pod rig that came with the herb kit but not the 'master gardening kit'. And some afghan kush ryder from attitude seed bank.

I have been lurking quite a bit on the forums trying to gather as much info as possible on the subject before asking any questions but i have a few questions that i would really like cleared up.

1. Is it ok the germ the seeds in the aerogarden? Can we just take the parsley seeds for example out of their grow sponge and replace with our ganja seeds and leave it on? I read somewhere to cut a hole in the grow sponge to the bottom pointy end?

2. Everywhere i read seems to talk about nutrient tabs with the aerogarden. We recieved liquid nutrients and im scared if we have a little seedling do i still pour all of the packet in? Do i start giving the plant nutrients right away? Are these liquid nutrients adequate?

3. Can i just bang the seeds in the sponges put the setting to tomato and let her go?

This is a small scale operation strictly for personal use but ideally we'd like the biggest yield possible. We will be keeping a diary as soon as the room is decorated, but as afore mentioned we already have the aerogarden and seeds so this will definetly take place.

Any help would be much appreciated gentlemen/ladies, thanks for reading.

Question 1: Yes, fill the AG 7 with water; NO NUTRIENTS (0-2 weeks), place the seed into the sponge narrow part of the seed facing down. Leave it about 2 days and you should notice it began to sprout.

Question 2: NO NUTRIENTS FOR THE BABYS! During the germination process, stay away from those nutrient packets... Just keep the AG reservoir filled. Do your research for the nutrient feeding schedule... Just pay close attention to your root/leaf color (Roots = White ; Leaf = Green), it will indicate almost everything.

1. it's not only okay to germinate in your A/G, I think it's a lot safer then having to move them later. I plant them twice as deep as they're tall with the pointy end down and the tap root will get through the pod.
2. I gave up on A/G's nutes. Look into Technaflora's "Recipe for Success." You can get a starter kit for about $30 from a reputable hydroponics store and it will last you a long time in an A/G. You can use it from planting to harvest. Many don't feed for a week but then they panic with a little nute burn when they start feeding.
3. Pretty much. Just follow the directions in #1.
If you have the three lamp hood and the tall, (24"), arm/light stand you should be good to go. Keep your pH under control and change your nutes weekly and you should have no problem. Put reflectors around it and you can get buds all the way down to the planting deck. You'll get miniature trees not the ten foot variety but it will keep your jar full. The "K" strains are a little harder to cultivate but you should be okay. Good luck and please keep us informed on your progress.

Thank you both for your replies. We fully intend to keep a diary but we are going to keep the setup as stock as possible, however some reflectors around it i think is a brilliant idea so we'll do that too. We have the 2 light setup with a 7 pod system. Hopefully by the end we will show that 2 complete novices can grow something worth smoking with a basic aerogarden setup and some autoflowering lows.

Had a look at recipe for success and i cant find anywhere in the uk that sells it :(
