strange that the only videos up there show students without masks standing around a fire while someone without a mask puts the sign on fire

there are other video's from other angles and i see no masks i see no one trying to stop anyone doing anything all i see is chanting and cheering..

you might want to write your own history on this but there are many videos there that paint a much different pic
so maybe I misquoted about the mask, as this was awhile ago I read this, but they do all say that they didn't recognize the students.

ok ok , not EVERY street corner, but the UK is the most surveilled nation on the planet and far far and above anything going on in the USA. You can concede your defeat now in that the USA is as bad as the UK, cuz it was just proved to you that the UK is many many times worse.
How can you accurately say this when you have already stated that in America the government performs it's surveillance in secret via the patriot act so as not to upset the constitution? As such you have no idea of the level of surveillance you are subject to.

To be honest. Non of this police state stuff effects me in my day to day so for all I know it's just a television show. But I don't watch television either. I just live in a self created bubble of positivity. TRying to figure out what life is all about. Some people have it figured all out... I watch the occassional youtube videos where I see things like, New Madrid Fault Line warnings, Police brutality, Police state is in effect, Mass flooding is about to take place earthquakes etc. But none of those things even cross my path in reality. I'm just watching all this take place on my computer screen...Am I fooling myself?. I follow my heart most of the time. Either way.. It seems people are being effected by whats going on. I don't know if I should follow the masses and be pissed off all the time at what's going on in the world. Or continue going within myself to find out who I am at the deepest level. Seems to be working fine so far..but like I said I could be fooling myself. I'm just rambling about something that's completely off topic. I just put that out there cause I know RIU has some amazing people that have a wonderful perspective on things like this. I'm sure someone will have a problem with it..but I've learned to not care what people think anymore. It's done..

You are probably closer to the truth and enlightenment than 99% of the people here according to this post. Congratulations. I agree that it's all looking more and more like tv designed to get us wound up and create a reaction. Sadly though it's also all true. But letting it get to you is the last thing anyone needs and the fact that you can see it for all that it is, stay informed, but not let it get to you is absolutely ideal.
bravo!!!!

Whoever was thinking about masked officers pretending to be something else to provoke the situation must be remembering this:

^^^Very Great Post. That's exactly what they do^^^
That shit went down at the london protests as well. all recent protests have shown examples of the police deliberately attempting to make things worse. The protest about the squat i had talked about, i read up some more and basically they were protesting about a tesco express supermarket opening in their area essentually putting local shops out of business. The police deliberately backed off but conveniently left a fancy range rover outside the tesco in question, only later going back and retrieving it once it had been trashed, same with a large equiptment trailer that was overturned. They are intentionally allowing it to get as out of hand as possible so they can send in the biggest set of boots possible. Then they can use the media to whatever end they like. Unfortunately it doesn't really work so well now that it's not just the news folk with the cameras :)

The only thing i tell to people these days is to keep a camera on you at all times, you'll have the copper shitting himself, the concept of being held accountable for their actions and their lies revealed

Here's a peaceful protest from Virgina the other day

In the police's defense, old people are scary, we should probably always use riot police and dogs when dealing with them.

Baptism parties, grandfathers, and pregnant women are awfully scary too. The grandfather in this was busted for public intoxication in his own backyard, refusing to identify himself to police and some other shit while he was at the same time turning over his ID to them and offerring no resistance and creating no trouble.

How about this scary black man EMT the cop had to arrest to be sure he wouldn't save the life of the heart attack victim (with family) in the back of his ambulance:

Soon we'll be the same as these "terrorists". Notice at the end where they get to the kids age 9-18 and the seargent or whatever he is says we know about that 9 year old, he's *******the most dangerous one.********

And then goes on to say how well they're treated that they have movie night, and parents are allowed to visit. Kids say they were mostly just randomly grabbed off the street.

We got some sick puppies in america and abroad in positions of power.

dude, i love that football video. 40 seconds in, top left, security get's karate kicked the fuck out! Yes, they had to detain him, but fuck, i have no police training but i am capable of holding someone of my own build at bay, i don't need to get 3 guys to hold him while i smack his head in with a pole, and that ent swinging, that's prodding, that's a lotta pressure and danger to the guy. They got exactly what they deserved and if i ran that football ground i'd commend every supporter involved.
