NEEM OIL suffocating my plants....HELP!!!!!!!

Hi there.

I have 8 plants on the go (unknown strain)..and they are about 4 weeks into veg.
They began to show signs of Powder Mildew, so after research, I decided on spraying them with some neem/soap/water mixture (as per recipe from 420.com).

I sprayed when lights went off at night, and let them dry 100% before lights came back on......now the grow room looks like a bomb hit. Every plants leaves are twisted and curling under, all new and old growth is curling under badly (like a spiral) and new growth is now very light green...and one plant has just wilted into a terrible mess.

I rinsed (sprayed) them off this morning with some plain PH's water hoping this may wash some of the oil off...but looks like they may be just F*cked!...Errrrrrr!

Anyone know how to get Neem oil off the plant?.....they are in a hydro drip and under a 600W hps indoors.

This has just pissed me right off...before adding the Neem oil, they looked healthy (besides some powdery Mildew)...but now.. I am scared they are gonners!...any ideas/suggestions?....do you think they are to far fucked to recover?......sad, sad morning :(

I would make a fairly strong solution of dish soap, like 2-3 oz per gallon and spray the shit out of them. Make sure the runoff does not get in your system. Then get some plain water and spray the shit out of them again to get the soap off.

May or may not help but thats what I'd try.

It isn't the neem oil, most organic dish soaps do a nice job of suffocating insects etc...but also can suffocate your plant if not rinsed off.

And neem oil for mildew?...never heard of it used in this manner.

I know it sucks for me to tell you this but you must throw them away and clean the entire room from top to bottom....Coming first hand with experience with powder mildew and tryed everything under the sun with money not being a problem for me and still came up empty with 12 kush plants with 5 oz a piece on them. I tossed them ito the trash and started from the beginning I found that my humidity was not being controlled properly and with research and hours on forums and a ok crop later I came to the conclusion of keeping the room around 40% in flower max 47% because anything after that would be pushing it for mildew problems. If your using a dehumid you have to be CAREFUL because I lost the taste and smell from sucking my first crops veins....I now place it away from my plants and try to build a box around it keep your HUMIDITY in check every second of the day or you will have mold problems everytime....What happend in your room...First sign of powder mildew is little black tar specs sometimes go completly unnoticed until you start noticing your plants are powdery by this time your room is completly contamiated by the mold which is released into the walls and floor...START OVER NOW YOUR WASTING TIME CONTINUING ALSO ITS IN THE SOIL NOT JUST THE LEAVES SO WIPING OFF METHODS ARE A JOKE TRUST ME I SPENT 30 HOURS DOING IT

Well..might just take the advice and toss these ones out and start from scratch..errrrr! (Darnit..just filled a 15 G res with all those expensive nutes! The curling has seemed to slow down a bit after drenching them with water...and now (at the end of the day)...I DO see new healthy growth...but now once again.....MILDEW is back on lower leaves (I hope this is not something else besides mildew I am over looking....as after reading more on powder mildew i am not 100% sure). The powder looking substance can not be wiped off the plant with fingers...and all the posts I read said if it was Mildew I would be able to wipe it away...confusing....there are no holes in the leaves at all...just this white powdery crap that just will not go away. I don't want to toss them out if this is not the case..anyone have any ideas on something else it may be?... I tried to put up pics...but the powdery substance is so fine the cam wont pick it up.

well some good news, some bad news. just so you know for future reference, pm is systemic, so surface treatments like neem can suppress it for a bit buy will not kill it. systemic fungicide with myclobutanil have worked well for me. only good for early veg tho. for bugs I use a pyrethrum concentrate, thru a $20 hardware freight paint sprayer. Alot of ppl seem to like azamax, mightywash, and floramite. I haven't tried those tho pyrethrum has always worked so far.
whatever you use to deal with the spidermites tho, do it soon and thoroughly. they are pretty persistent.

They are perfectly visible with naked eye, figured that was your problem.

I have doubts those plants will even survive, and spider mites will finish the job.

Use Pyrethrum spray...or better yet:

Toss plants, clean grow room thoroughly...and start over.

4wks into veg??? not 4 days?

start over and do it in soil if you're 4 wks into veg.

also neem OIL under a 600w hps? oil is known to BURN the FUCK out of plants under HID lights. especially when applying for the 1st time EVER raise your lights, make sure your spray is ph'd and RINSE with ph'd plain tap water 12-24hrs later.

if you have systemic PM use E-20 (2ml/gal) while still in veg.

if you have mites you can use any combination (separately) of avid (2ml/gal), floramite (1ml/gal), tetrasan (1/2tsp/gal), spinosad (4tbsp/gal) while still in veg.

these require the use of tyvek body suits, ov respirators, gloves, goggles and a good understanding of what the fuck your doing.

let me know how else I may be of help, seriously even if it's grow logistic stuff which seems like possibly an underlying issue.

good luck!bongsmilie

Well decided.. I would just toss them all out (which I did)..they kinda looked like shit anyhow, as when I bought some Northern Lights...the gave me 10 free "unknown" seeds...so didn't really matter to toss them, as they looked like the shittiest grow I have ever done.
So here was my solution......Tossed all my plants out....took every single thing I had in the grow room and bleached the hell out of it...then washed EVERYTHING in soap and water, Then soaked EVERYTHING in Peroxide bathtub..lol..then soap and water again..and a good rinse. Wiped every single wall in the grow room along with ceiling floor and ever Duct venting with a huge powerful bleach solution....Wiped some water/peroxide all over, then again with soap and water....then finally BOMBED the room (my friend is an exterminator)....Now just have to wait until the smell dilutes a bit (and I am also freezing the shit out of the room with cold air), ad your eyes do not burn.....but my exterminator buddy says if ANYTHING is living in that room after 4 days..then they are a mutant insect.. I have never seen my grow room sparkle so great!... NO MORE people/animals in my grow room PERIOD!...took me over 40 hours to clean this all...I hope it did the trick. Just gonna plants some less expensive plants this time...just to see if they come back before getting some higher quality seeds. Thank you all for your help.
