Need to find a GOOD hose end sprayer…so far no luck

Need some more help. Ya’ll are my go-to for all good information :D.

I’ve got a big bucket load full of unusable hose-end sprayers that I’ve purchased with the hope that maybe, just maybe if I spent enough money one would work….but, so far I’ve gotten a …well a big load of money down the drain.

So far I’ve tried both kinds: the ones you mix and the ones you put the product in only & it mixes for you (I sure was hoping one of those would work…they’re so much easier….if they work!). Some start out all right. I watch them as the fertilizer or insecticide drains out of the bottle at a reasonable rate. Then, others don’t work at all. The ones that start out okay, end up…..well…I keep watching, and the level of the liquid never goes down…..; It’s frustrating as heck, especially when I had 30 plants. No way could I have lugged a watering can around . I’m not strong at all. In fact, I have fibromyalgia, and it would hurt for days/weeks if I tried….; the last sprayer did let some of the fertilizer out, but not at the rate I needed….it only worked on ‘10’, the highest number. That wasn’t the rate it was dispensing, but the only one it would dispense anything out of….so, I was at least able to get some on the plants…just not at the correct rate, which isn’t good, either……

so,, i rambled…..but today I have an excuse…. I have ‘long covid’, and it really affects cognitive stuff…..boy, does it…

If anyone can help me find a good hose end sprayer, I’m open to suggestion!

thanks!
:peace:……. Please~

I just buy one off of Amazon they have a couple adjustable ones that work really well and they have a regulator valve built into the handle so you can control your flow off of your pump

Sorry I don’t have a suggestion but I have a question. What kind of dog is that in your profile picture. Looks like a schnauzer, especially going to ground like that.

That’s a ’lab mix’, which is what they call any larger breed black puppy in the shelter since it’s such a popular breed ;). She fell off the bed when she was 6 months old & had to have her tail amputated. That’s the reason for the short tail. And, she loves to dig after the gophers.
SO, HERE’S LUCY:

As far as i can tell it looks like you're trying to make it easier to water and apply IPM sprays of sorts.

If youre only trying to water and root drench IPM then i would recommend getting a drip system installed or even something like Blumats.
Both would work on either a gravity feed reservoir, or straight from a hose line. (With a pressure reducer)

If you're trying to foliar IPM spray you would need a separate solution. You're best bet would be to mimic a commercial sprayer setup.
Essentially you would place a stationary reservoir that has a inline or submergible pump (make sure it can handle back pressure). Then you hook up a regular hose ( or spray nozzle wand for foliar) and use it as normal.
This solution would also work for watering but the drip system is just easier.

Thanks. I have the inline watering system already hooked up. I’m going to be getting the setup to feed/etc through it (I have Long Covid, and haven’t had enough wherewhithall..LOL..looks funny :p (i feel stoned ..or strange enough… even though I’m not) to order it yet, but will soon.

I was originally trying to find a hose end sprayer that would do both, but since I can do the inline for fertilizer, I will…but, STILL need the hose end sprayer… to do the foliage, like you say…..and we’re back to square one.

Need to find a hose end sprayer that actually works…..any suggestions……..?????

I really feel like a stationary reservoir with a pump and a long hose with a foliar spray nozzle would be a perfect solution.

My only other suggestion would be a Ryobi Electrostatic sprayer.
They have 0.25 gallon, 0.5 gallon, & 1.0 gallon tanks.
Although they are much more efficient at spraying than a regular sprayer. So lyou will cover more plants with less spray solution.

That’s interesting. I’ve used the single-…….I’m trying to think of what to call it…. It’s a one-piece hose-end sprayer. This looks great, but complicated. I’ve got ‘COVID brain’ right now…. long covid is a bitch, and messes with your brain, … you can’t get a thought from point ‘a’ to point ‘b’, and this is messing with me .

I’ll look it up and see how it works. The ones I’ve been using haven’t been working anyway. They used to… I don’t know what in the world happened.. I’ve got a bucket-full of them right now…
thanks again. I’ll check it out.

I like that idea. It isn’t wasteful at all… I’ll still need to get something for the foliage so a hose-end sprayer unless there is another way for that, too ;).
thanks
