Ok so i plan on setting up a tent like trunk5's stealth tent. After reading all the info i could find ive yet to find out what type of bulb to use. I keep reading about hps, mh, and cfl and have pretty much gathered that hps is the best. When i checked home depot/walmart's webistes i couldnt find any hps lighting systems. Also which lights should i use when? For vegging and flowering i know you're suppose to use 2 different kinds of lights but wasnt sure which lights to use during which stage. I want to find a lighting setup where i will be able to grow it all in the same setup and just switch the bulbs for each stage if this is even possible. Thanks in advance, will +rep.

THanks for the quick replies! That Mh/hps light is wayyyyy out of my price range to be honest. Maybe after the first/second grow but first grow i guess i'll be sticking to cfls for now. I know that its 6500 for veg and 2700 for flowering. How many of these cfls would be a good amount for say 3-4 plants of master kush?

This might seem like an even dumber question, but if i buy the cfls how to i use them. Meaning i obviously cant plug them in so is there like a converter or something for an electric socket?

There are CFLs that you can plug into normal light sockets. They are designed to replace incandescent lamps, and are commonly available in both bayonet and screw type fittings. These are called 'self ballasted' CFLs.

Tubes on the other hand require a specialised light fixture which contains the ballast. These fixtures are also commonly available, as they are in use everywhere. While many people might not have any agricultural/hydroponic specialists near them, theres a good chance they have a local merchant who supplies industrial and commercial lighting.

dude, 600 watts is excellent for 2 babies, just make sure you work on your ventilation system. under HPS the yield will be bigger and thicker, you can use it from start till the end. mine are vegging greatly under it but had some problems with the heat so take that into mind

I heard about the difference between them also and I also heard that cfl's are also very good for vegging but if you only have the HPS you could have gone with that. Missed the part that you had both.Peace
