Need some help

Okay my set up is a dwc made out of a 30 gallon rubbermaid under a 600 watt hps. I germinated 5 seeds and went five for five and then planted them in rockwool that I presoaked for 24 hours in 5.5 ph water and put the rockwool into my dwc surrounded by hydroton. I planted them may 7th and only one has sprouted and its barely sprouted. Im thinking theyre all dead, including the one that sprouted because its a very dark color and it sprouted 2 days ago and hasnt grown since. Im not sure what i did wrong and i was hoping someone could help me out.

Also i used vinegar to ph the water, maybe this was the problem?

I would say its the vinegar but it might be the hps coz young plants dry out under a hps
the best thing you do is veg young ones with cfls or keep the hps far away form them and keep the temp down ... Dont use vinegar
or tap water use rain water coz its (N) ph

vinegar lowers the ph of the water my tap water comes out at around 8, so i used a little vinegar to drop it down to 5.5.

how many cfls should i use for the early veg? right now i only have 2 150 watts laying around the house

Nah i dount they are 150watts you sure there not 42watts 2 to 200 Watt Compact Fluorescent Bulbs : 1000Bulbs.com The Light Bulb Superstore..
but i would say for veg around 100w per a plant maybe less but not for flowering
lol rain water is (N) best for plants and vinegar doesnt just have acid in it . lol
i bet that vinegar was fucking it up but still a 600w hps on youngs ones
how far is your light to your plants

I meant the 150 watt equivalant. i think it was like 40 watts maybe? the hps was like a foot and a half above it. They don't need light until they sprout right? Im going to start germinating some more seeds later today

yh as soon as they pop out then turn on the lights ..
and put the hps 2-3 ft to start with for young plants i dont know why you dont use Cfls for the first week

cfl's work great for the first week. Deffinately do that
