building a light...
25sqf sounds like a 800-1000W led-lamp

among the 1001 possibilities there is one I can recommend.

watercooled led light

- with integrated heatexchanger.
- if you grow in your house - you could prepare ~ 250L of hot water every day.
- my light-heat-cogeneration is world champion in energy efficiency.
- cheap & easy to copy if you are able to cut and drill aluminium square tubes.

You can probably get more value for your money with other COB than CREE.. @CobKits they are sure very good but not the best value.. if youre into DIY look at samsung F-strips and yes quantum boards are very good too but they will get their V2 in couple days/week so id hold on to grab those instead as they will have the same price as the current one and be more efficient

CXB3590 are a waste of money nowdays. At $45 per cob, plus $20-30 per heatsink, you're at $65-75 per COB total. And you'd wanna run at 50w or so.

Samsung F series strips or quantum boards are the way to go. A single 22" single row samsung F series strip PLUS heatsink is $17 or so. And can run up to 50 watts each, and are 177 lumens/w typically.

Check out this thread. 5x5 tent with 900w of strips. His design was WAY overkill, but he pulled 1700+ grams or 1.9g per watt his second grow.

This link has lots of builds, inc for 5x5 with links to parts too

You could do a 5x5 build for $600-700 easily. With CXB3590 cobs, a decent 5x5 build would cost you around $1300-1500 easily. And wont be as uniform and spread.

Just call timberlights and be done with it ...
So overpriced though :(

LEDgardener has complete part lists with links for led strip builds. AND wiring diagrams. It's fool proof.

You could do strips for half the price as a timber cob light, and it will be a better light.
