So I'm running 1 1000w light inside a 5x8x10 tent I believe I have my phresh filter - og hood light - 8in can fan - and ducting out the tent. My Temps avg. Is 84 I know it's kinda high so I thought about a portable ac unit. Ideal air 12000 btu. I'm wondering if I run my ac on a separate circuit (run extention cord from the room) if I will be ok on elc. spike for apt. With everything running or would it set off some red flags?

As long as you're not running a propagation unit in your house i.e. 1MW+ a day, and as long as you pay your bill you'll have no issues. Just make sure the AC is running off of a different circuit to ensure you don't overload your circuits and cause a fire. Have you looked into cool tube for the light and just vent all that heat directly outside??

1000w, 8" can fan, 12,000 btu portable a/c. You'll be fine. That's barley 2000w, probally a touch under. No worries man!

I personaly do not have exerpicent with Ideal Air but have not heard very good things about them as a whole. I'd do more resaearch and get a different brand. This is my opinion so take it with a grain of salt and shot of tequila.
I'd look at Home Depot.com and get an LG or a Haier.

not ideal to run an AC unit on an extension cord but if you must, spend the extra money and buy a heavy duty extension cord... 12 AWG would be best

Thanks for the quick response! I really appreciate it. I am already venting the light heat out the window. But my problem with venting out side is I live in an apartment so I gotta make it look as inconspicuous as possible. I was thinking if I brought the ac in the equation I wouldn't need to vent outside except for the exhaust hose for the AC correct me plz if im wrong in just having hard time with worries on elc spikes and becoming noise management

You should just get a window AC unit. You can get a cheap one for $100 probably even cheaper in the states.

I think I got a very thick ext. Cord
thick and heavy duty are not always the same

sometimes the thick casing is for outdoor weather protection....most cords have the rating printed on the cord...use no less than 14 AWG, but 12 AWG is best

My bad I thought you could purchase one for that price not that you already had. No man you're good. Pay your bills and you'll be golden. Just follow ISK's advice about the cord. Last thing you need is the fire marshal investigating your fire or worse yet, the coroner putting an ID tag on your toe. Safety first.
