need some advise.

Could anyone let me know if my girl is doing what she's supposed to be doing. 3rd week, still veg, no nutes, 4-26w cool whites, and water when it needs it. Not sure if the plant is getting enough of what it needs to grow more vertically

Hmmm... Third week you say? They do look good, dont get me wrong. But for three weeks it should be a little bigger.

May I ask for a little more information? What is your ph? Temps?

It looks like some decent soil, no large chunks or anything. What brand is it?

Also, at that size it probably isnt drinking much water, do you have a moisture meter or something?

Oh yeah and please dont give it any nutes yet. I have included a picture from my journal of some Bubba Kush I'm growing. So far none of those ladies have recieved any nutes.... just Fox Farm soil

To answer your questions bigtomatofarmer. I have no gadgets like that, going by feel and instinct. My wife helped with soil, mostly MG( iknow not the best) and some potting soil we had around the homestead. As far as temps go its been around 70 to 72 at night and around 78 daily. I have her in a special place in my attic. Now i do have a heater just in case and a fan just in case. If you ever been i an attic its hard to know whats its going to feel like. Anyway thats about it, nothing really special, almost doing ancient style, lol. Any help will be fantastic.

Get those lights 1-3inches away from the plant. put it as close as possible. And dont over water. pot likes to dry out a little between feedings.

Well, if you want a cheap and inexpensive grow I understand. No problem man.

The only thing I would reccomend, actually the only thing I would say is crucial for you, is proper ph!! Proper ph is crucial to plant success.

You dont have to spend alot of money either. Go to the local hydro shop and pick up the cheap chemical ph test solution kit. Mine was about $6 and It will last a year. If you cant find a local shop, go online and get a kit. I promise you will need proper ph. Aim for slightly acidic and you'll do fine.

They sell it in walmart for 3-8 buxs in fish section, usualy have ph uper and downer there aswell. I like my water for soil at ph of 6.2 - 6.5. Also if using tap water make sure it sits out for 24hrs before feeding plants

There are many different chemicals that can be used to detect the ph of any liquid. For example, pool test kits use phenol red, which only has a ph range of 6.8 - 8.8

Which means if you use a pool ph text kit, and your ph is 5.5, you will not know it, because phenol red does not accurately reveal ph in that range.

Thats why it is important to get the right test solution. You need something with a wide ph range.

Its also important to remember that using nutes or molasses will severely drop the ph of your water. If you use nutrients without a ph kit, youre destined to fail.
