I have had nothing but problems with this strain.
Purple Paralysis
After i cloned feminized mother plant, the next gen has been giving me problems in EARLY VEG??? this is crazy. ive tried repotting, supplimentary feeding(big bloom, boomerang, calmg+ growbig, by foxfarm).
they are in ocean forrest with 30% perlight, EWC and Coir. was feeding with highN AACT. then tried the foxfarm to fix what i thought must be a nutrient def.

the wierd part is i can usually get all the way through veg with NO feedings. and all i have read about This strain is that it is a low eater anyway. so shoot me ideas, I am ready to yank the whole strain from my lineup if i cant get this fixed! thanks all!!

It is locked up. Flush like crazy.
The lock up is causing a phosphorus deficiency. After flushing like mad! Then feed with a light mixture, like half dose at most. This should clear up and stop progressing within the week.

hmmm yeah a flush was the last thing i wanted to try. ph is good, cant be salt buildup. what else could cause a lockout?
Bro what does PH have to due with salt build up? Too high of nutrients causes lock out of other nutes, in turn causes burn due to improper take up of proper levels of NPK. Not just poor PH causes burn.

right. but salt buildup will lower ph. since they havent had any nuetrients prior to the one feeding i gave to try to correct last week im just confused how it could be any kind of burn. im relunctant to flush. the strange thing is my other three strains and one of these purple from a different seed are loving life. its seems to be the direct clones of one of my mothers. and that mother

As one other knowledgable guy said on RIT, flushing fixes 98% of issues.
You always have the right to not do it but if it's a sub soil issue it may need some sterile treatment such as chlorine or h2o2 when you do it.

They are due for a transplant. As in 2 qt.right now. I'm thinking this strain just hates ocean Forrest ratios. Here the plan flushing the younger clone and the mother into my new organic mix. Just got done cooking. I've been ready to ditch ff for a while now. I've only been giving water since last post but am going to give 2.5 gallons for true flush tonight.

hey man, some of my recent plants showed some of those same signs, someone on here recommended adding a bit of epsom salts every few feedings. I use well water, and the epsom salt helps with any lockouts. Dunno if you're on well water but give it a go!

I have got light colored leafs from FF ocean recently, only lower leafs, looks like a cal/mag issue. Also, what is weird is that they are all the same strain and it only affected a two of 7.
I didn't do anything, just kept pressing forward and no more issues after pulling those leafs off.
Now I am going 100% Hempy. It saves me money on my medium and let's me know exactly what I put in is what they are getting.

Excess potassium or even acidic soil can cause your magnesium to be getting locked out. Do you test the PH of your water before feeding? I understand it's RO but after adding nutes, most cause the water PH to be around 5.8 due to buffering in their solutions. I have a Botanicare, Dyna-Gro, and FoxFarm nutrient line. I am testing all three, I am having strong feelings to stick with Dyna-Gro. After using it I have found it is way more cost effective, has all the Macro & Micro's including beneficials needed and that others charge you more for just to put it in another bottle.
One thing I have noticed is that when I am done mixing, no matter how much of the solution I use for each gallon, my PH is always around 5.8. Meaning they have it geared for Hydro. So a soil would need some PH up. This obviously will up your PPM considerably depending how much nutrients you use. The more you use, the harder it is to get back up around that 7 PH level.

This is one reason why I am going 100% hydro by the next grow. I have one grow right now that is 50/50 soil for some plants and hempy buckets for the rest. With hempy it takes the same skill and work as soil but much easier to manage and equal to higher yield. Plus things like flushing are a breeze. You don't have to run 15 gallons for a 5 gallon bucket to get down to 300ppm.
Plus a bag of perlite is only $16 at the Home Cheapo. I get 2 buckets for each plant. One to catch runoff after it drains. I don't like the dribble that gets on my tent floor so I opt to spend another $3 on another bucket. Plus you can always convert your hempy to a drip system.
I bought an Claber Oasis dripper system to feed them while I am gone on vacation for a week and I am letting it drip to a catch pan. I will give them one good feed before I leave and the dripper will prevent drying out while I'm gone. Just a safety in case they consume more than expected.

Next grow, try a hempy! I think you will never go back to soil after.

thanks for the idea sheepsblood. I have alot invested in my tlo style of growing. Im very curious about this all perlite idea. I grow medicine for a few patients and have tried many a different styles over the years. Im pretty much set on living organic soil as i cannot replicate the flavor or quality any other way(not yeilds tho). But as money is my last motivater in why im doing this yeilds are not as important as quality to me. I wouldnt consider myself a professional(although it is my only means of income) but am very profficient in synthetic soil growing as well as high salt based (bottle) fertilizers. which is why over the last 6 months swtich to purly organic(no salt or synthetic ferts was the best move i have made. Im about 50/50 as well except half are psuedo-organic while the other half are total organic. Im fine trying a few different super soil recipes out but as they take 30 days to cook before use it slow going to see what mixtures work better than others.

you are way over doing your nutrients if youre adding all of that to you ocean forest and adding in liquid nutrients. If you want to feed aggressive like you are youd be better off using coco as your grow medium. it has no nutrients youll need to constantly feed liquid nutrients every time you water
I use the nutrifield coco bricks. super cheap$$$$$

Only liquids on my non-organic. And usually get through veg without any nutes in ocean Forrest.

My base for my "cooked" soil is coco. Ewc. And perlite
