Hey People,
i am growing since some time, weed, indoors.
smokin joints with tobacco.
now i am considering makin hash the first time.
tryin to fugure out which way i will go.
i had some rosin a while back and dint like the handling of it, glue, so i might opt for another way.

which ways to produce hash are there?
which amount weed/buds do i need to calculate for lets say 100g hash?

Dry sift is the way forward get a wee tumbler and few smaller screens you sieve it then you press and decarb it you can use a glass bottle full of boiling water for that its pretty straight forward and superior to bubble hash you do it right frenchy canoli has some great vids on it up on YouTube i advise u look at those too

bubble hash. get the washing machine and the 5 gallon bags. the machine can hold 300 hundred grams of material. can heat it and press it into a temple ball. for heating and pressing i use a sue vide to keep a water bath at the correct temperature. takes about 6 months or so for bubble hash to cure i dont understand the chemical reaction that takes place but you will know when it turns into a play doe like consistency.

sounds like bubble hash or dry sift is clearly the way to go, thanks for you opinions.
i have to educate myself a bit now.
frenchys videos are a good tip
bubble hash
depends on strain look for strains that are good for hash. you want 100g u are going to need hundreds of grams of flower.
true, good advice with the strain, i normally avoid too leafy strains even theyre frost covered, may have to rethink that.

With dry sift it can be a bit airy its the resin you after not the bud look at morrocan stuff for example there bud traditionally isnt super dense but makes good hash

3rd vote for dry sift imo it doesn't get better for flavour, it's solvent free live extract :bigjoint:

I've got a pollen sifter now but I used this method before owning one, it works well.

Dry sift tastes like the bud you got it from, hash tastes different because some terps are water soluble.

From Dinafem:
"Contrary to cannabinoids, terpenes are water-soluble"
It might sound insignificant it's not there's a world of difference if it's flavour you're after.

am starting to get a better idea.
i am well aware of the different hash and weed taste, i would say i prefer weed.
best tasting hash i ever smoked was skuff, which taste quite weedy.

after watching some vids i think i may go the dry ice route? easy to switch over to dry of course or ice.
reading your experience it seems 120-150 micron is good size for hash, i prob wont dab it anyway.

where do you people shake your stuff on to or in to?
i saw mirrors are used a lot, making sense, but a bucket will contain more of the "dust" i guess.
baking paper is a option too, or combination of bucket and baking paper, idk, will be probably going to be a mess first time.

oh and regarding decarbing it in boiling water f.e., i never saw one doing it in the videos i watched, is it alternative or needed?

On a glass surface or stone like a marble worktop for example and do not waste your time with dry ice hash far to much plant matter always gets mixed in mate bubble be better even and i prefer dry sift over anything just saying if i were u id go for dry sift it dont get better or easier for quality hash alternatively you could hand rub wee bits but you would need a hell of alot of live plants to make it worth it so indoors its not really viable

Yes its pressed kief not hash if its not decarbed u can do it a number of ways the glass bottle full of hot waters just a easy one u could use a tshirt press or a number of things point is to be hash vs kief pressed into a lump it has to be decarbed to be hash cos it wont be anywhere near as potent if you dont press and decarb it and theres reasons people make hash the same way for so bloody long lol and unlike what many think its not just to be cheap its cos if it works great why change it

i think i m going t obuy a mirror for this adventure then.
so youre camp shaking it dry and thats it it seems, why not i can try that first of course.
i read the outcome using dry ice is quite high and its quick, so thats why i thought its a aoption, i can get dry ice easily.
