Ok guys the plants you see here are on week 4 1/2 from seed. They are all outside in a greenhouse with plenty of ventillation(or so I think). All plants are in a 50/50 mix of Fox Farms OF and FFHF. I am currently only foiler feeding with Thrive Alive B1 Green once a week. They are watered with straight R/O filtered water. Soil PH is about 6.7. As you can see I have some rusty spots on leaf edges as well as clawed leaves. I am not sure as to what the problem is. In the Third pic you can clearly see I had a problem with some kind of insect but, I have since been managing the problem. You can also see the clawed leave tips on strain#1. I do not have a themometer in the green house which is a dumb mistake but, I live in So Cal so I was not to worried about the temps. It has been warmer here round here averaging about 85 during day time. +Rep for any help. I am also going to be going to a 100% Organic Nursery in San Diego so I can buy stuff to make my own tea with. Do I just replace the plain water with the tea for every watering? Thanks again

I gotcha brotha, since you were so kind with the cooking. Let me ask you this: Did you cut your HF/OF mix with any additional perlite/pumice/gravel? What I think I'm seeing is a result of your soil staying too wet. Even when its dry on top, is can be saturated down in the root zone, where it is most critical. I had the exact same problem with just straight OF. This was 5 years ago, and knew not what I know now, so I PH'd up, down, all around, I feritilized, flushed, flogged, and nothing helped. Years later, I finally got it. ROOTS NEED AIR!
AND space..hopefully you still got em in starter containers, so just transplant them in bigger pots, and go with a lighter mix. (i.e. more pumice) You want 30-35% of your mix to be perlite or pumice. I dont like perlite, because it floats to the top, but to each their own. With a light mix, you WILL need to water more often, BUT this is good, because all those little air pockets you created by lightening up your soil with suck in more air every time they get a drink.

Per gallon of water:

2 TBS Alfalfa Meal
3 TBS Worm Castings
1 TBS Kelp Meal
1 tsp Molasses

Shake it up in a bottle with good water as many times a day as you can remember too, pour it from container to container to aerate a bit.
I use it within 18 to 24 hours. Beyond that it goes from smelling real earthy and rich (good, especially when it fizzes little bubbles) to smelling like death rolled in mierda. Sorry, but it does. Too stoned=rotten tea...Good Tea=Stoned too good

This of course is just one of MANY variations. Experiment with your own and just use your nose...I'm in San Diego right now, grew up here. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Actuallly I mixed pearlite in about 25% by volume and it is in a 5gal grow bag. No other additives to soil bit dirt and perlite. I have heard I should cut additional holes in the grow bags but never did. I bought a thermometer/hydrometer today. The moister tester says the soil is in the green zone but I can hold off on watering. It's been about 2 days since last water. Will update if any changes come. Thanks for the info

So after some research i have concluded that I have a potassium def. I have read that the r/o water I am using is void of potassium. I'm sure the tea will make everything all better.

Well, almost 5 weeks of no nutes, I think you may deficient in all nutes. The premixes never feed as long as they claim too. Clawed leaves usually means overwatering, based on years of experience. Unless you have seen a K deficiency in person, it's hard to determine just by web surfing. Less is more, I can't stress that enough. Read the plants

I went to city farmers nursery today and bought some soil for the ones in beer cups and transplanted. I also picked up high N guano, castings, molasses, andAlaskan fish emulsion. The had all sorts of powdered poops, castings and minerals all availabe by weight. That place is great, it's in city heights but it is huge and I think they just got a life customer. They even sell hydro gear and everything in between. The soil is actually pretty dry and I still seeing no improvmemt actually it has moved started to affect the others and they were never saturated because they drank so much. it got over 100 today in my green house so I super vented it, looks like a aframe with shredded plastic now lol. Should I cut extra holes in the grow bags?

Yeah, you should have some drainage holes for sure. How tall are your plants in those 5 gallon bags? If they feel light in weight I would give some water. Hmmm...Is it time to transplant? Oh wait I just saw you go from beer cups to 5 gallon bags...Is this correct? Are they really small when they go into the big bags? When you pot up, you want to gradually increase your soil volume, i.e. beer cups into 1 gallon, then 1 gal into 3 gal, then 3 into 5, etc. Some strains could care less whether or not you do this, and will thrive no matter what. But many will not be able to handle that much soil volume when their little roots have hardly developed. Small plants in big containers equals soil that stay wet and COLD. Which makes roots very unhappy. Keep me posted. Nice score on City nurserey. I'm there, man, even if it is a little drive down the 15 for me. Sounds like a winner. Peace

Nice job on your ammendments by the way. Pick up some kelp meal for sure, and your on your way. You got everything you need right there. Now just give it time and patience, and you be neck deep in buds before ya know it!

There are holes in the bags it came with em but I am cutting more and you right about the bags being to big but, I'm on a budget that's why I went small to big. I am going to start a new journal tomorrow and add all the info from all my notes.

I hear you on the budget thing. But buying more soil volume than you need actually cost you more. 5 gallons of soil for each plant that really could and would be happier in 1 gallon. Recycle orange juice bottles, milk jugs, sour cream and yogurt cups for you containers. I don't put mine in Smart Pots until they are ready to flower. You did good by picking up all your nutes like that. You WILL save money in the long run with that. Well, they are where they are now, so just be gentle with them. At this point, doing more to them will be counterproductive. Ride it out and keep on learning.

Yeah I soaked them yesterday and am still nto seeibng any improvment but there is lots of new growth and maybe the begining of some preflowers. Im hoping preflowers so I can cull the males if any and bring em inside for the flower.

Let them dry out a little bit and see what happens. Check your weight on the bags periodically and you should be able to get a feel for when they are full of water, when they are bone dry, and anywhere in between.
