need some advice for a wardrobe/armoire cabinet

A friend of mine wants to set up a grow cab. He has a wardrobe/armoire that he's thinking about using. I can't find an exact picture of what he has because it's a few years old, but it looks similar to this:

The only difference is that the one he has doesn't have a single door on the left side of it, it has dual doors. The internal dimensions of the area on the left side are 61.5" tall x 30.5" wide x 19.5" deep.

What he needs to know is, what would be the best amount of light to use in this thing? He has several 4' fluorescent fixtures, I told him he should stand one of those up in each of the rear corners, and maybe mount 2 more of them near the front of it standing up. So that would be about 24,000 lumens just from the fluorescents. He's grown before and has 2 - 400 watt HID's with Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium bulbs. But when he grew before he had a room set up in his basement, and he can't do it down there anymore. So for now he's just gonna use this thing. Is the 400 watt HID too much for this thing? Heatwise I mean. Do you think he should get a 250 watt HPS to use along with 8 cool white 4' fluoro tubes? He knows he's going to have to have good ventilation, but I don't know what he plans on using for that yet. What do you think? How many plants do you think he should grow in this thing? He wants to have as few as possible, so I know he doesn't want to do SOG. Do you think he could do 6 in this, and just let them veg until they're like a foot or a foot and a half tall, then flower? He doesn't have a computer so I wanted to get your opinions so I can give him some suggestions. Thanks for the help.

Hey thanks for the replies. What about the number of plants? Do you think 6 is too many for this space? I forgot to mention this but he wants to use soil because he can't afford anything else right now. I told him about Fox Farms products, and they have it locally so he's going to use that. He plans on getting some NL beans. How tall should they be allowed to get before flowering? Thanks.

in that space he can lst and maximize yeild but if he dont want to tie down then let them grow 1 foot- 1foot and half before flowering

I agree...

Clones and LST are the way to go for sure in these small set ups...

I have seen plants triple in size during flowering with adequate lighting...

400 HPS on the biggest diameter cooltube and a BIG ASS FAN have my vote... but it is not my grow...

Peace...
