Sorry to hear this... First as a golden rule of thumb dont buy your soil from any place that stores it outside. Your bag has holes in it to keep it "moist" which allow all types of things to get in there. To take control of your room your goona need a few bags of sand depending on the amount of pots and the size of them. No pest strips work good. The catch is the thing has to sit in your grow space for a few hours. When i had them things I left mines in there for 12hrs. Over watering could be another problem. Pest like soil that is moist to lay the larva in it. My suggestions would be to cover the top of your soil with sand and get the no pest strips ( you can get both products from Lowes too) Good Luck Much Respect :peace:

my fault I forgot to talk about the spots. It could be from the pest attacking your roots. This might be a tricky problem to fix. Some say dishwashing liquid some say neem. I would look up both here on this forum and work from there. Also you will need the ratio "product : water" Please let us know how you progress. Much Respect and Best of Luck :peace:

Once again My Bad... its a week old I see. You can try to swap it out since its still young in the game. Fox Farm has been really good to me and bug free too. When you change it out try to save as much of the root system as you can but id put it in new Fox Farm. Moms always said if you fry food in a cheap pan most likely it will burn I apply her theroy to dirt, cant take the cheap route with the soil from which all things good growth from sorry about the triple post i need to take my medicine :peace:

Keep the light as close as you can get it,and those bugs are gnats that live in your soil.Did an experimental grow in OC,and got the bugs immediately, switched to FFOF,and no mo bugs. The brown spots are the gnats, and will go away along with the gnats.

I really just dont understand why someone wouldn't spend 25$ on a AWSOME bag of soil.. its like the most important thing....

You have to be a cheap mofo to risk an entire grow just to save 10$.
