Need Nutrient Help!!!

ok so i am growing white widow and I am running into some trouble with the nutes. I am in week 4 of flower and am feeding them once a week as follows:
PER GALON Micro (Genral Hydropontics)8 mlGrow (Genral Hydropontics)5 mlBloom (Genral Hydropontics)15 mlCal-Mag (Botanicare)5 mlLiquid Karma (Botanicare)10 mlSweet (Botanicare)15 mlSilica 5 ml
I have checked to make sure I am using all of the manufacturer recomended amounts and yet my PPMs are outta control!! just around 2300 PPM. I think I may be overfertilozing but not sure, if I am overfertilizing i am not sure what I should cut out of my feeding schedule. Please help!!

If you use the recommended dosage from each nutrient, you're definitely going to get a high PPM measurement. I'd say cut them back to half of what they say on the labels. 2300ppm is way too high. I think I've read that you shouldn't ever use above 1500.

i only grow hydro and in week 5-6 its ok to use up to 2000 ppm but only if you ease the plants into that high of ppm. i've learned to cut everything the labels say in half, check ppm then add more to get the numbers you are looking for. if your new to hydro use about 1700 ppm at the most this will keep you from nute burning

I love growing that strain. Just add water till your ppm is around 1400. In week 5 & 6 kick it up 150ppm per week and then drop it to 1350 week 7 and flush week 8. Enjoy!

We are doing a 10 week flower cycle w/ flushing in the last two weeks of flower. Anyone read about turning lights off the last two weeks while flushing?? I heard u can do 8hrs on and 16 off or u could do complete darkness during ur flush...for this strain does anyone have any recomendations?

Supposedly, this allows the plants to use up all the rest of the nutrients in the plant already. I'd be interested to hear an experienced grower chime in on this and its validity.

Try this (in mls/gallon):

Micro - 7.5
Bloom - 17
Liquid Karma - 5
Sweet - 10
Silica - 5

Done.

i usually take 2-3weeks to flush..the objective is to get your ppms below 200..i usually aim for 50 or below if i can and i also cut my hours to 11hours on and 13off the last 10-14days

a flush is just water..RO or distilled water if u can..and Homebrewer u use that much nutrients in a gallon?? no burns??
I don't know what the ppm reading is but that is considerably less than what the GH schedule asks for. Even my most sensitive strain handles that really well.

@homebrewer: would u recommend that formula for the rest of the grow? or would u use it to flush them?
I'd recomend that up until the last week, then maye dial the bloom back by half, then flush for the last few days. Personally, I don't think hydro plants need more than a 3 day flush and even then, I flush with mild nutes.

That formula posted is a nice way to get a nitrogen deficiency and yellow leaves. Be sure you add grow to the mix, not just micro and bloom. Stick to the manufacturers feeding chart!

I agree. Just look at how yellow these plants are at day 37:

And look how nitrogen deficient this one is at harvest ;):

I wasnt saying your growing sucks. I was saying that adding Micro and Bloom, no Grow, is not a wise way to go. It's a 3 part formula for a reason, it doesnt mean 3 part optional. The only optional things are additives! :)

The grow has an NPK of 2-1-6 and supplies a touch of magnesium. Not exactly the nitrogen powerhouse, huh?

To that, GH's own feeding schedules drop it during half of flowering:

http://www.genhydro.com/genhydro_US/feeding_charts/GH_ExpertProgram_Recirculating.pdf

Furthermore, I've used GH for years and found that anywhere between 7.5-10mls per gallon of micro alone keeps the plants plenty green. As for what I do, I give 1 part of micro, 1 part bloom and then tweak koolbloom as the flower cycle progresses. But when comparing the labels, Koolbloom is just a less complete floraBloom so as previously posted, I stand by that schedule as it's as complete as GH can get.

You've proven me wrong, then. If GH says not to use it after week X, then dont. I'm a Humboldt Nutrients user, and their GMB scales all the way from veg till the last week of flower.
