does anyone know of something i can put in my room for better insulation other then the fiberglass kind. maybe some insulated mylar

the heater i have i keep running on max 24hrs a day and just barley stays above 70 sometimes gets as low as 65:shock: but it could heat a small room i just need a way to keep the heat in
my room is just plywood which doesnt insulate very well

its a 1500watt heater its gonna kill my electric bill if i don't do somthing about it

get more lights.
1. thats your heat
2. more light=-better buds

those temps are perfect as i am concerned, 65 is awesome for night time temps.
Good call more light equals more heat equals more/better bud. Or just get insulation and put around the outside if its a grow box. Doesn't need to be on the inside and reflective.

my room is a cubby between the wall and the roof for storage

im using 4' fluros so they emit little to no heat

blankets sound like a really good idea.

ive only got a little veg room, its the shape of a triangle and 4 foot at the widest part, + 7 foot high, and while i veg with cfl (125 watter) have found when i take clones and put them in there to root in a heated propagator the temps rise a good 4-5 degrees! and its only around the 35-40 watt mark, so give that a try you might be supprised how much a smallish space heats up with very little heat.

never mind ive just reread your post and if a 1500 watt heater wont do the trick 24 hr aday then it wont work lol.

cardboard is good heat insulator any tramp will tell ya that, lol eh u could honestly get some thick cardboard boxes open them all up and tape it all round the grow area and man i reckon it will work very well, the homeless ere in london use them to get through are harsh winters so man i would give it a go, bring them energy bills down some. good look man ! peace !

so i decided to try both ideas i lined the walls with cardboard hobo style and put up the emergency blankets i had white printer paper up so i figured a little mylar wouldnt hurt

IT WORKED it got down to the 30s outside lastnight my room was a comfortable 75-80 all night i clicked it down to the 600watt and set the nob to the hardly even on setting, it clicks on to maintain the set heat and i don't hear it clicking on alot compaired to before when it was on 24 hours a day 1500watt max setting

thanks guys for all the help and input you took a big chunk outta my e bill:mrgreen:

you could also use old newspapers as insulation (emergency blanket, newspapers, cardboard, for a triple deal.)
