I have 6 diff plants growing completely outdoors..they are in 1 1/2 gall pots..its been raining allot latley and was def worried about over watering b/c of it...they are all just seedlings except one, that is about 2 weeks old(9 inch tall)would it be wise to keep them in the pots a lil longer or transplant them into the ground..if so what is the process in doing so??

Its hard to have overwaterimg problems in the ground as long as your soil has decent drainage.

Dig a nice deep hole and make sure its pretty wide for each plant, put rocks at the bottom, not big ones but like regular rocks idk lol it allows for good drainage and add a generous amount of perlite into your medium

Yea i know thats why i want to get them out of there pots and put them into the ground, but i dont want to shock the plant with the transition...i need help with the planting/earth soil ratio, and at what depth and width to dig to, thanks :blsmoke:..iv never done an out door grow b4, just indoor

I would say atleast a foot and a half both ways, and if possible just cut the bottom of the pot and then bury straight into the dirt, the roots will grow down past the pot

Before you plant out, scatter two handfuls of 16/16/16 fertilizer in a circle two feet in diameter, scatter two inch deep layer of leaf mulch or other mulch. Dig/mix into soil to a depth of a foot or so....water well and allow to sit until the fertilizer is incorporated into the soil.....then dig your plant right into the center of the prepared area. You will not need to fertilize again until bloom time and maybe not even then, depending on the soil quality.
It won't hurt to leave the plants in pots for a while, just don't plant out before the safe frost date....June 1 where I am. I have been using this procedure for years with no problems.
