need led help

whats up yall...this will b my first grow and im somewhat on a budget!! i want to ordered a 3.5'*3.5'*6' tent and need help picking a led light to accomidate the tent size(goal is 1 1/2lbs dry harvest)!!! is that possible with that size tent?? ive done a good lil bit of research on lighting and want to go led with my situation at hand but theres too many companys and types of led's!!! should i go 1 big led(1000/1200w) or 2 smaller(600-900w),cobb or pannel or both??would really like the light to have IR and UV!!! Please Help!!!!

around $350.00

you should be able to make a DIY cob cree/citizen kit with 3 or 4 for 350 to 400.... I think? but for 350 your truly limiting yourself and 1.5 lbs will be tough to get dry if you ask me.

I personally have 2 200 watt roleadro cob lights and 1 400 w HPS as my lights covering a 4x4 area and 2 cfl corner lights and 2 led corner lights. that cost me around 450 for main lights, adding up to 800 true watts. 800 grams possible, sure but we will see and that is for 800 true watts. do that with pure led and youll pay a lot more then 350 for a decent 800 true watt led panel. this is just my opinion though as a mediocre knowledge base behind cannabis.

Is the tent already paid for or is that part of the 350 budget

From what I understand more lower wattage lights spread out would be better than one huge one.

Led is the latest and greatest but that comes with a price tag. That being said you can shave off more money the more hands on you are.

Plug and play lights and tents cost more then diy but all the work is done and probably done right.
...unless you want cheap nock off cobs and stoof then youlll save a lot.

I don't want to make this sound like an overly daunting task the whole point of this is to relieve stress lol

im building the the tent/box!! the $350 is for light/lights

as i know pockets and beliver in..u get what u pay for but i have to take small steps right now

You'll likely want atleast 4x4 or 5x5 if you want to pull 1.5, also got 350 you won't get much in regards to cobs or led that will pull 1.5 unless your pro. I would say a 1000 watt eye hortilux is the best bet in ur budget range

thanks bro...yea im gonna build a 4x4x6.5 diy closet/tent!!! i think im going with 2 mars hydro reflector96 with a shit load of cfl side lights!!! I have pictures but cant figure out how to upload to my new grow journal

I wouldn't do that mars light. Bump up the budget by a few hundred and you'll have a better chance of meeting your yield goals. I'd look into timber grow lights

Well if your building the tent and can build the cob set up I think 350 is enough to get you going...upgrades will be needed to reach your goal along with proper planning....but I think that's enough to get you started

Well if you from Bay area. I can shoot you hood with 1k hps bulb hortilux. The onlybrhing youll need is ballast. Prob like 20 to 100

I'd really like to go with led cobs but I am am in decisive person... that's an understatement lol. But looking at tents on amazon prices didn't seem that bad...
Anyone know of you can you turn tents on their side or would that mess up its structural integrity?
