I got a 150 watt hps light for 60 bucks and I want to put it in my cab but I think heat will be a issue so I need advice on how to set up a good ventilation system I use cfls now and its the temp is 85 on all day and 80 at nite the cab is 5ft tall 1ft 10in an 1ft 3in deep I have two 100 cfm computer fans and a 80 cfm fan also I really want to have it up and running soon so any advice or pics of setups like mine thanks

Time to upgrade to an inline fan, or at least an axial.

You're running 280cfm already, which is 100 cfm over what I'm using in my 2x4x5 tent with a 400w system plus cool tube. The interior temperature is about a degree warmer than the outside the tent temperature.

I think you could be doing more with less. Without a picture I cannot tell you exactly how to set it up, but I think the HPS plus a little ventilation would be a good investment.

You have the lamp and the fans and the cab. Have you turned it on for a few hours? What were the temps inside? What direction are the 3 fans running, all exhaust? What are the room temps the box is in?

For my hids, i put a piece of 1/4 in fire wire glass in my cab top to seal the heat in, got it from a glass shop. (1/4 in plexi glass would work also)
Then i bought a cheepo bathroom vent fan for 15$ to pull out the hot air.

The 150w hps isnt that hot of a bulb, i can screw it out with my bare hand. (the MH 175 is way hotter)
My old cab full of CFL was just about as hot as my HID cab.

yeah cfl's give more heat less light per watt. i think you have enough fan power, make sure to make oassive intake holes big enough for air to enter freely from bottom of room
