Water them with a hand mister at this point. Keep the soil moist but not wet. It's almost impossible to over water with a hand sprayer; lightly and often is better than drenching. Then you can give the love all you want.

Just give them a little light. A CFL or home LED will be fine the first two weeks, and check on it ONCE a day. That's all.
i cant be spending any more money on the set up but i moved the light away and i have not watered it since yesterday and its now grown more and seems to be sorting itself out and the soil is still very moist so i think clearly over watered

Look in your couch for change, recycle beer cans, & save up your pennies. Then go get a hand sprayer from the dollar store; maybe they have layaway lol

Like everyone said, the HID will be fine, but just wanted to mention, using a couple CFLs for the first couple weeks will save well more than what you spent in electricity running the HPS.

Seriously ... As others have stated. Don't hover over her and end up doing more damage than is necessary. The seedling has baby nutes inside itself to get her started. A light " misting once in awhile to keep her hydrated. There is NO REASON to drench her container at this point .... Other wise you will ask for a DAMPING OFF situation .

As far as CFL as a " starter " is fine , it is cheap and handy . Bulbs can be had for 99¢ for CRYIN out loud. This big boy cost me 59¢ at the 99¢ store - bought 10 of them.
They are even selling LED FLOODS which I will check out , and experiment with like cutting off the diffusers. Those are 99¢ too.

Growing smarter doesn't have to be expensive.
