Need help with mounting drivers outside tent

I currently have 4 drivers in my flower tent. My wires are all long enough, I just want opinions on what material to mount my drivers too. Can I use wood or should I use sheet metal. I don’t want a fire hazard in my basement. I would like to mount all the drivers together then hang that on my wall by the tent. Thanks

i’m running my 6 meanwells outside my tent on the ground and they are sitting on a heatsink and the heatsink gets pretty warm so it must be keeping the drivers cooler. i’d not use wood in either case.

Okay I was going to just leave it on the heatsink but that’s where my hangers mount too. Maybe I’ll just use sheet metal and leave it on the floor also.

I have the driver sitting on some old CPU heatsink on the floor outside the tent, near the intake screen for some air movement. The heatsink is small but it works for now. I might get a larger heatsink in the future to mount it properly, for example something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H97S1Y6?tag= Maybe not necessary but seems like some fun DIY

I have a piece of 4’ metal shelving (grill style) on top of the tent laying across with the driver on top. I also have my exhaust ducting aimed at it to cool it down. Everything is strapped down with zip ties for safety. 3D4C0A28-D3C6-4CB6-BA3B-FB7A2F3F9A04.jpeg

I use stand-offs under my drivers and have them all screwed into wood chopping boards. Interestingly, in the MeanWell installation manual it says:

" (2)Keep proper ventilation around the unit and do not stack any object on it. Also a 10-15 cm clearance must be
kept when the adjacent device is a heat source.
(3)Mounting orientations other than standard orientation or operate under high ambient temperature may
increase the internal component temperature and will require a de-rating in output current. Please refer to
the specification sheet to receive the optimum mounting position and information about the de-rating curve.

I agree with the folks saying they use a wire rack-I think it helps keep them cool to have them lifted up off a surface-I have two lifted up next to each other and I'm thinking of adding a 6" fan pointed at them. Those suckers get hot!

Update when I turned the lights on one of the drivers stopped working. I ended up saving up and getting the HLG Blackbird. Hopefully this doesn’t give off as much heat. 7FFF8F97-04EA-4C44-9F31-F127EEC1BAFF.jpeg

Insulate the connection to prevent any possible shocks.

Mounting to a piece of metal like aluminum will help with heat dissipation.

The cooler you can run your equipment the longer it will last.
