Need help with cooling

Ok so heres the setup
Bubbleponics kit soon to be redesigned to hold more root mass
400w HPS Setup
Exhaust fan pulling 170 cfms
2 intake ducts on the bottom with no intake fans
Grow box is 66"x31"19.5"
We have the oscillating fan on timer with the lights as well

The problem we are having is keeping the temperature cool. With the lights off, everything seems to be fine 74-80 degrees. However once the lights come on, temperatures rise up to 90 and stay there even with the fan on. This is a stealth box, so these temperatures are being recorded w/ the doors closed and the fan located within the box. What can we do to get these temperatures down to what the should be with and without the lights on. Thanks in advance for the help.

you could hook up the lamp to some ducting and and exhaust fan (if your hood is capable of connecting to some ducting). If not, u could look into getting a hood that you could do that with. But it appears that you don't have too much room in there. Other then that, you could get more osc fans, as many as you can fit and keep the air moving.

Appreciated, more osc. fans was going to be our next step. Our hood is actually capable of connecting a duct to run to our exhaust fan and we have done so with nearly the same temperatures. however we did not have the hood connected to the intake ducts, but only to the exhaust fan. Would it be wise to run some ducting to the intake?

Does your hood have glass piece in it? You could do what your saying and just have the air intake go through the hood and straight out. Is the room temperatures high also?

The room temperature is what im referring to..its 90 degrees in the grow closet with the lights on, and no my hood does not have a glass piece in it, but my local hydroponics store does have them available (hood adapters and glass for $60). To confirm though, it is pointless to run ducting to the hood without having the glass piece, is that correct?

no he is asking what the intake temp is. If you start out at 78 degrees, there isnt much you can do.

volume replacement is key to keeping temps down even without glass shielding.

Get the air moving out of the cab to make it cooler or lower the intake temp

Oh ok, the intake temperature, being that the cabinet is in my room, is usually anywhere from 65-70 degrees, nvr any higher..however I can see what ur saying because my exhaust fan just blows right out into my room..probaly not good huh?

for stealth boxes i recommend something a lil more thermoelectricy......
A Peltier device
Look it up, and check youtube it has demos on it about how to make usb refrigerators with it. you can use this method with your box to have your box at whatever temp you want. and they are only 10 to 15 on ebay
Tis what i use for my stealth grow.
