Need help with clones!

So I cut 4 clones Saturday night and put them in cups of water, and also cut the tips of the leaves off. Monday night my clonex rooting gel came so I wanted to put them in the rapid rooters and at this point they still looked perfect. I soaked the rapid rooters in water and then squeezed out excess. Set them in my tray insert and then put the clones in the rapid rooters after dipping into clonex. And then misted them. I have a little water in bottom of tray under insert that the rooters are in. I have a seedling mat under my propagation dome and have the dome on with vents slightly open. When I got home tuesday and checked on them they were very very limp and droopy and look lifeless. I have a single t5 seedling light over them. What did I do wrong to make them so droopy and lifeless?

No sure why they went droopy.
I had my share of failures....frustrating.

Looks like we have a winner here. Nice job Don. For anyone hating, you can tell this guy is an experienced grower not soley by the size of the grows, but the techniques he has described. As well as trials he has performed to see what works best. This all comes with experience, if you have it...

I’m not sure but when mine quickly go droopy I blame it on “damping off”.
Typically when I pull the clone out i will find the stem is very limp below the surface. My recommendation is to keep trying and maybe getting the clonex on earlier will help. Try opening your air vents the whole way. What works for me may not for you.

Yeah I opened the vents more and once I noticed them i left the dome off for a bit. They looked perfect before dipping them and putting them in the rooters. Then 24hrs later they are flopped over

Put the dome on and close the vents all the way...new cuttings need / like high humidity. Once they begin to show new growth / roots, you start opening the vents a little more each day until you finally 'harden' them off by taking the dome off completely. Don't fret; if you keep them in a good humid zone, they'll come back. Plants in general are super resilient. Good luck.

Ok they are definitely in a humid environment. How often do I take the dome off and let the air exchange?

Dome 100% sealed and misted. They don’t need humid, they need 90% or higher, they need tropical.

I found just water works okay but I'm finding it more successful with sphagnum moss.
Take a cutting, use hormone powder/gel and then wrap it with moss and put it in water. It may be the moss or it;s that the root is in the dark.
A couple have died but they were not great cuttings, (ex toppings) and the rest look pretty good.

As often as you need to spray or add water to keep them humid. They're cuttings...trying to grow roots. There's nothing crazy happening in terms of air exchange. Don't sweat it, over think it or try to out smart it; nature persists. Good luck.

Fill the tray with water...spray water on the inside of the dome, spray water on the cuttings, put the dome on, close the vents, put them under weak, indirect light and leave them alone. Tomorrow at this time, go look at them...if the dome is covered with drops of water, don't open it and leave them alone. The following day, at this time, check them again, regardless of drops, open them, be sure the rooters are damp, be sure the water hasn't evaporated out of the bottom of your tray and repeat...spray top of dome, put lid on, check 24 hrs. later, etc. Spritz them with water when you take the dome off to check them. You need to keep those root pucks / rapid rooters damp, and they have to stay that way, so put the dome on, and leave them alone. (they don't need you opening and closing the dome like a mother hen checking on her chicks every 2 hours) They'll come back...they aren't lost. Good luck.

Ok sounds good. Yeah the dome is covered in water. I'll just make sure water stays in the tray and let them be and see what happens

Don't drown them by putting too much water in the tray...just enough to cover the bottom, but no more...you just want some in there to keep that humidity up, especially if you're using a heat mat. If you did your part in taking the cuttings, they'll do their's and come back.

Sounds good. I got some kinda issue with my big plants too. I cant figure it out. They are about 6 weeks old from seed and have been under a 400w mh. I just got a new LED they are now under but this started prior to that. They are in fox farm ocean forest. I just started nutes a few waterings ago. I've been using 3-4ml cal mag with every watering as I use distilled water cause my tap water is really hard. I ph the water to 6.5-6.8. Water every 3 days or so.

Love it! Always trying to find a better way . I have recently given up though and went back to good ole faithful... Rockwool.

Take your pictures in ambient light...the purple light hides too many things and makes it difficult to see.
