need help with a decision should a buy a power box of some type or just put 240 in

I think for that kind of power need you should consult with an electrician, depending on the age of your house and the electrical system you have you could possibly run into over heating problems, your looking at upwards of 100A of power. Saftey first.

The 100A of power is based on 120V. If you used 240V your still between 50-60A, Consult with and electrician. I have seen some older homes that only have a 60A service and 100A services are common in my area.

Dude it gets dangerous when dealing with that much power, one cord gets a little to hot melts the cover and boom instant fire. i honestly see a new house getting burnt down 1 per month where i live from people trying to do that(fyi im from norcal). my advice is, use 600w and get a great co2 system. and raptor or 3xl magnum hoods. im only running 4800w in these pics

Norcali does make a good point. If your ready to run 12000 watts, then you ought to have the electrical part dialed.

But whatever, yeah get a switch box. What are you going to do otherwise? Have 12 individual timers? You best be legal cause that jump in power is going to raise some eyebrows.

4500 kwh a month...wow
