Hey first time grower here. I am currently growing 1 white widow and 1 super silver haze in my closet. They are about two months old and I was planning to start flowering them this upcoming weekend. They are growing in organic soil and I have been using veg nutrients (high in N) on them for a while now. The white widow has started to develop these yellowish blotches on the leaves which are becoming more and more noticeable. The leaves towards the bottom also seem to be wilting and turning yellow. The silver haze seems to be doing much better except for a dark brown spot on one of the leaves. A lot of the leaves on both plants are starting to get pointed yellow tips along with some of the stems growing purple. Please help me diagnose what is wrong with my babies! Any help is appreciated!! :bigjoint:

Well, a few things...

WIND!!!!!! Your plant is gonna topple over because the stems aren't thick enough to hold weight. Your plants look really good other than that, don't worry too much about those brown spots, just flush her really good (water till she has no salt build up) Which if you are gonna start flowering is a good idea before you switch to a blooming nute (something with like 5-20-10 NPK) The purple is no big deal, doesn't really mean much. Pretty plants, happy growing.

I agree with wilsoncr17, your stems are a bit on the thin side. Get an oscillating fan going in there, not too strong, just a light breeze to strengthen em up. Otherwise I think your looking good bro.

Also dont worry if the lower fan leaves start to go yellow, this is perfectly normal, just allow them to wilt until they can simply be plucked from the stem without any effort.

Almost every time it has something to do with over feeding or lack thereof. Your best bet is to flush and then let it sit till the soil gets almost dry. Give it half the food you normally give it. It’s hard to do without having a ppm tester to check the amount of food that you are actually feeding the girl. I keep my dirt food already mixed in a bottle at about 800 ppm. The only dirt plant I have is the Mothers and some of them are over three years old. I do mostly hydro ebb and flow because of the simplicity of how it works. Dirt is something that takes time to master.

Thanks guys for all the input! I had a fan on them but it wasnt blowing that much... I didn't want it to be too windy, but I did increase it. I just flushed them out today with some purified water. How long should I wait before I start flowering? Would it be ok if I did it soon or give the plants time to recover first?

Is it normal for plants to start to produce those white hairs before you switch the lights to 12/12 and begin flowering? Thats what my silver haze is doing
