Need Help Quick- Should I chop the plant early?

I have just snipped one of the bud stalks, should I leave it to hang dry first or start breaking it up to check for the bud-rot?
Open it up and see if you actually have any bud rot.

They look to me like they have been hungry for the last couple weeks while they are trying hard to make fresh buds. It’s tough to tell from the hps lighting pictures but it sure looks like there is wilty yellow leaves all over the plants. The heat spike also probably stressed them which exacerbated the issue because the plant was trying to function on over drive to stay alive.

You are 100% correct, i started flushing too early when i saw issues with the leaves, I thought it was a nutrient salt buildup and started flushing with plain water. Then I just didn't start feeding again, thinking it was too late to start feeding nutes again. I've learned a bit more now and had started feeding again a few days ago, then this happened. I'll go open up a bud now and see if there's any rot before deciding to snip the other big cola

Just opened it up, pics attached.

Cant't see anything, I cut the bud at a few different points where i saw the brown wilted leaves, but the inside of the buds look to be fresh and green and clean.
Can't see any mould, but let me know if i've missed anyhting or if i should break it up even more.

Hey bud, ok that makes more sense. I don't see any bud rot, it is likely you just starved them. I would keep feeding them and perhaps cut the dead leaves as they will not have any benefit at this point. Taking away food when they needed it the most was likely the culprit.

Glad I only snipped off one stalk, my biggest bud too, the fear was put into me from the sound of bud-rot

Thankfully I only snipped one stalk and not the whole plant. Feeding has been resumed and i will go to work snipping the dead leaves from my beautiful buds just to keep an eye on any more showing up.
Once the bud was broken down i could see the the base of the leaves were still yellow and only the ends had turned brown. Hopefully that's a slightly better sign of no-bud-rot.

Any more advice appreciated. This is my first grow and i'm just happy to be nearing a harvest. Currently on a tolerance break due to the lack of availability. I just want my baby to be nice and tasty to smoke when it's ready. bongsmilie

Stock the bud in a brown paper bag or envelope. It'll come up lovely. Or do an experiment. Leave half air drying on the side and half in a brown paper bag. You will learn something doing that if it's your 1st grow.

So glad you don't have bod rot. Apologies for sending you into spaz mode. Worth checking just in case though and you get some early smoke.

No apologies needed. You just provided me with a touch of extra experience. I will try and find a paper bag or envelope to try out drying. I currently have them hanging up in a dark cupboard. just waiting on a mini hygrometer to arrive for my curing jars
