need help please. Harvest Early?

she's really pretty, really sucks ya probally gonna have to harvest early. but if its pretty weak buzz you can use it to make hash and condense the potency into less material.
 
well just wopke up and we just had our first frost. looks like i gotta think about what to do with them and how much longer imma let em stay outside. thanks all for the help.
 
any tips and tricks anyone wanna share on how to harvest and cure and dry properly? how much is it going to smell up my house if i dry them in the attic and it gets a decent temp up there? i have a little vent hole in my shed in the upstairs, will it smell that up? and how do i harvest properly, do i just cut the whole plant and trip up any big leaves on the buds and then after just let the buds dry, or is it a little more precise than that? will a regular pair of scissors work for me cuz i dont have fine tipped pruning sheers...? please help me. thanks
 
That plant will NOT get you high. Maybe a little buzz like tobacco. The buds need to fatten up and hairs need to die which is when the psychoactive chemicals start to kick in. Anyway you can hang thing in the attic and just have a carbon filter in there but premature plants don't stink as much as mature ones from my experience so you might be ok without one.
 
one of the bigger cola's are doing well...starting to get some red hairs...pretty happy with how theyre coming though. all look great. went through this weekend and clipped all the dead bottom leaves off and made sure everything looked good. more and more crystals appearing dailyy. looks and smells like GREAT buds. like i said, my buddy told me they were some LongIsland Kush. not too sure, we'll hafta wait and see what happens when theyre done. going to think about clipping them within the next week or 2 at most. frost is coming and i cant risk leaving them and having it go wrong.

what are some tips and tricks to harvesting and drying and curing that you all use to yield more and such...any help is greatly appreciated. im new to this, my first grow. tell me what you think of my albums and what i can do to make my next grow better. thanks. you all are greatly helping me. +rep to all. i'll get to it later, workign right now.
 
i bring mine in at night...its helping prolong the time til I harvest. you really need to wait if you can

get some razir needle tip sprung crafting shears, about $10 SHIPPED ON EBAY, FOR TRIMMING ANd (shit she turned on the caps lock, lol. Those things made it soooo easy to clean up
 
thanks for the link. i already read that. is there anything else i should know? what will happen if i clip my plants this weekend and they arent fully red hair, milky/amber trich's? will the high be good...will they dry and cure the right way? whats the easiest way to harvest? cut from the bottom of the base...? clip anything that looks like a bud...? this is my first time and the tutorial i read from fdd2blk doesnt say waht really to do...it just tries and helps but i need more help. my buds are all looking great. im going to get updated pics up soon enough. but i wanna start harvesting now due to frost and sh*t...what do i do!?!? help please
 
so its come down to 40 degrees at night here. 3 of my plants have purple pistills...what the hell do i do now? clip em friday? its suppose to be sunny on friday and im planning on clipping at least 2 of the better looking ones. should i keep the others planted and let them go, or should i pull em and take em?
 
whens your first hard frost?a few weak/mild frosts are survivable for em unless it frosts every night (mine do at least), try to wait on most of em for at least a week or 2 longer. 1-2 more weeks should help alot imo. but go ahead and pick the best 3-4 on friday if ya want. is it possible you could cover em at night and uncover in the morning? that should buy you some more time too hopefully.
 
wow thanks for those trichome pics that really helped me decide when is the right time to harvest...lol i picked one of my buds a few days ago & let it dry...rolled a blunt & got a pretty good buzz so i figured i would let em grow a little longer....Its starting to get pretty cold here at night but i dont expect any frost for at least 4 more weeks...
 
so this week its been raining for 5 days straight. its getting cold, 40's...should i clip em all before i lose everything? and if some of the cola's arent fully matured, the pistils are purple ish, like a white at first then a nice purple color. if dried and cured, will i still get high from them or no? whats the best advice? the only dry day is suppose to be tomm morning for a couple hours and thats when i think im going to clip at least 3 of the 5 i have left... will that be a good idea? i cant cover them at night, would make it too visible to other ppl... please help...tomm is the only good day i have!
 
I'm in the Southeast and we just got finished with that rain a few days ago. I would really be on the watch for bud rot if you've had that much rain/moisture. 40 degrees won't hurt them. May possibly help. (Heard that THC protects the plants from cold, so the colder it is without frosting/freezing, the more resin production???) anyways, looks like you got a lil ways to go before those buds fatten up. I know you are worried as hell about losing them, but you'll be much more satisfied if you wait just a lil longer if you can. I am able to have daily access to my girls and went there daily and gently shook the stems back and forth to knock off any excess water from the rain. You still having sun to help dry them back out amidst all of the rain?
 
yea, its pretty cold. and no we dont have any sunlight. would the "younger" plants still have a good high, if the pistils are purple-ish...they smell amazing and look great. theyre white ish with purple on the top halves. im planning on cutting 3 of the 5 this friday(tomm)... whats the best way to do it? cut the hwole thing from bottom or what? im new to this! lol thanks

Do yourself and all of us a favor, WAIT!!! They are not ready yet and you will be disappionted that you took them down this early.

My opinion is to wait 1 more week and you will see why waiting was the best way to go.

But, if you still want to cut them down (don't do it), cut the branches off 1 by 1 and trim them up good. First cut off all the large fan leaves and then cut off the smaller leaves down to the bud to make it nice and smooth around the bud. Then, take it up into your attic, run a string off the rafters and hang your buds from the string.

After, 3-7 days see if your stems start to snap and them place them into mason jars to cure for 2-4 weeks.

Again, my advice is to wait another week and see how they do. You wont be sorry you waited, and I know just how you feel. You want to cut them down soo soo bad. But be strong and wait my brotha.
