Hi guys im back. I need help my 1 month old plant is about 3-4 ft high now and she's drinking way too much water. She's drinking and eating. The leaf tips on the top are drying out everyday because the plant drinks all the water before I wake up. she is BLUE CHEESE. sO NOW IM GONNA HAVE TO TOP A 4FT TALL PLANT. Any suggestions guys. These are 7 gallon buckets that are running dry everyday. I didnt want a reservoire in case something goes wrong with 1 of the plants. The room and water temp iis good. 1200 - 1400 ppm's. also how do i train 4 ft tal plants....this was after i pulled and pruned a few leaves.....should I defoliate?

How much do you water them at a time? I have a 6ft plant in a Smartpot, which are notorious for using a lot of water, and I give it 2gal a every day. My in ground plants take 4 to 6gal a day, they are a lot bushier though. Also I'm outdoors with high temps and its windy everyday.

I agree, that plant is made from God's sperm if its a month old, You may need to put it into a bigger container (tubbawear or how ever you spell it)

either way nice motha fucking plant my nigga

You right I have to be real guys....I bought the clone from a dispensary. Ive had it a month. I wouldnt of thought that the clone couldve been over a week thoe.
This one is in a 7 gallon bucket DWC. Im nuting it everyday and Im freakin out of nutes now. At first I was able to just top everyday but now its drinking the whole bucket....if I use a tub I wont be able to get my net lid over it...

1200 to 1400 ppm wayyyyyyyyyyy too much
that's your problem
in this age the ppm must be in the 700

PH between 5.5 to 6.5
lol you have healthy plants and you expert killing them

sounds to me like u should set ur clock to wake u up in the middle of the night to give her more water. seems like an easy fix to me

I tried getting up, thats easier said then done...my ph is good the plants are eating the nutes and water evenly. maybe I should back off the nutes some. but the problem is them drinking so much. if i connect a bucket it might give me time but no room to get in my room. Other clones came off her so there gonna be a problem too. I need a solution for them all. I might have to run a resorvoir even thoe I would hate too. thnx alot guys..........but now lets put our heads together and think....What would mcguyver do in a situation like this.

I would thats what my wife says but my brother disagrees. If I start to flower the we will have to pull a big source of light away from the others until they go into flower...........fuck it I think your right man. man its challenging to grow when your broke haha.

Good god that sounds more like a blessung than a problem lol
If they are drinking evenly and there is no sign of stress on your plants then dont drop the ppm at all. Just dont raise it any either. It sounds to me like you have found that strains sweet spot. What strain is it?

maybe if you hate the amount of water you go through or whatever you could switch to a drain to waste for next run, with an automated watering system.

but kudos to you; if you can't keep up with watering maybe add an auxillary reservoir , coupled together with that via undercurrent.
hope you can afford some nutes for that baby

The plants and their roots look great! Your plants, for their size are "drinking" right around what I would expect... The thing I would say is go on to flower. Lolly pop trim, 24hrs of dark, move timer to 12/12 and begin flower formulation of your nutrient formula of choice. I've run blue cheese and it seemed to be a thirsty plant for my pheno, all though she didn't "empty" a 5 gal pail until flower (didn't have it so big in veg either). When running DWC. I do a 30% add-back formula. That works like this. In bolth veg and flower. When the "tank" drops to the point that I need to "add-back" or "top-off" (generally every day). I'll mix up "add-back" solution at a rate of 30% of the REGULAR strength of the starting formula. I.E. , if you use 20ml of "grow" and 10ml of "zyme" with 5ml cal/mag,,,,,Then you would use 6ml of "grow" - 3ml of "zyme" and 1.5ml of cal/mag to make the "add-back" solution and top-off the tank. You do this until you have reached the SAME AMOUNT THAT YOU PUT IN TO START!!! Then you dump the tank the next day and refill with 100% strength nutes and repeat the process. That helps with nute costs and keeps the plant in the peak of health. DWC is a FAST growing method, so I'm not surprised at your size vs. time in tank....
In DWC, , I like to be very fussy about pH and keep it between 5.8 and 6.2, with 6.0 being my target.
Ah yes, it's fall and it's time to get out my DWC equipment and sanitize and get started....Maybe some L.A. Confidential or some "Iraqi Hash Plant" (seeds brought home by friends from the Iraq "war")....
Good Luck

If you were to look at the plant as a magnet with the roots having 100% humidity and the top of the plant having less humidity .The less humidity at the above earth surface lets just say for example you were running 20% humidity around the plant. That means the plant is a 80% magnet for the water and will consume water at a much faster rate then a above earth plant at around 60% humidity.Ajusting humidity in the room where the plant is kept can reduce the amount of water use of the plant. This will also decrease stretch and stress in the plant.Direct air(you would show signs of increased wind burn and yellowing on the leaves.Direct higher velocity air against the plants surfaces will also make the plant drink water faster in order to replace the water being evaporated around its leafs from increased air movement. The trick most growers do not understand is a plant needs a constant air changeover in steady movement .Enough were the leafs move around but if the whole plant is forced under direct air it will hurt the plant especially in flower. The moisture in the leafs will evaporate faster then the plant can keep up so it draws water faster from the earth in order to try and compensate.

you need a circulation pump on a timer with an auxiliary tank, you could put the tank outside of your grow, which will make it more convenient for you to water ! Imagine its just like ventilating a grow room, put the pump going out of the big res going to a tube that goes into the side of your dwc bucket under the full line, and take another line and run that back to the opposite side of the reservoir
