need help on hid light

ok i have a grow box that is 2ft by 3ft an 5ft tall, and going to have 1 to 3 plants an need to know should i go with a 150w hid or 250w hid and what kind of fan.. Im new to theys lights iv been using cfls and finly git the money for a new set up
 
Go with the 250w and use a 5" fan and filter combo on a speed controller to run it slow during colder times and it can then be cranked up during summer.

just ordereda 400w hps light is that over kill for the space i have or not. would have git the 250w but the 400w was alot cheaper
 
your going to need a aircooled hood or cooltube i would think or your going to have way too much heat inside...maybe if you had a really good exhaust fan pulling the heat out of the top....
 
the kit comes with a 6'' cooltube.. i have a home made exhaust fan for now till i get the money back up for a good fan
 
hopefully thats enough. my 240cfm 6 inch inline barely cools my 2x4x5 tent with a aircooled hood.
 
which only cost like 25 bucks on amazon btw. you can get cheap fans that work way better than most home made fan units like your talking about. believe me ive tried that lol
 
thys lights really get that hot... i say im fucked thin all i have is 2-4'' intack fans an a 3'' exhaust fan it stays about 75f with 4-t8 an 2-70w cfls
 
well lets just say my 2 x 4 tent will get up to 110-125F if my 400 watt is not properly air cooled.
your looking to be around 70-80F
 
A four-inch fan with enough cfm, like a CanFan, will do the trick. Computer fans are designed to work in a low-to no-load environment. You want an axial that can pullll ... and when you realize you need charcoal, it'll be something you're glad to have ... all jmo. cn
 
believe i can swing 23 bucks lol... the ones i was looking at were like 70 an up..... the fans i have r just stuff i had laying around its just desk fans.. i seen a cheap charcoal were drolove link went dose it matter what kind of thy all about the same
