Need help on drying/curing

hey guys,
i just accquired about 1.25 OZ of weed off a plant.
i took all the big ass leaves off and i separated the buds off the larger stems.
when i first had it, they were in a zip-lock for approximatley 3-4 days. then i cleaned them up to what they are now^. i have them in a glass jar. it gets to be about 40-50. degrees at night and i'm keeping them outside in the jar. what am i doing wrong/right to get the best out of my weed.

HELP PLEASE!

first off get them inside NOW! you should be keeping the jars in a DARK cool room. not outside in the sun. second you should have let the bud dry for about 3 days b4 putting them in a bag or jar. it is much better now that you moved them from the ziplock bags to the glass jars though. how wet is the bud now when u touch it?

and also are you opening the jar everyday for at least 15 min?

ok, i'll get them inside as soon as possible. i took them out of the jar today and let them sit in the sun(through the window inside) for a good hour. you can feel that they are wet from touch. but i think they are better since i set them out in the sun. should i put them back into my closet(shoebox)?

and i've been trying to take them out to get fresh air in there, but its hard to do since i live w/ my ma and pa. (smell and all)

yea keep them in the closet, and don't put them in the sun anymore- light deteriorates the thc

oh shit i didn't know that...

what can i do to keep the smell down?

when i bagged a G earlier after a day there was condensation around the bag...

i brought them inside and they are in a glass jarr w/ a metal lid, there is a layer of toilet paper in the bottom of the jar and a layer ontop of the bud. i put it in a sock and into a shoebox for hiding...

is this going to dry it out, if i let new air in like 2 times a day?

yes that is fine just remember to "burp" it for at least 30 minutes everyday until you can snap the stems

You need to take them out of the jars and dry them first, all you're going to end up with is moldy weed. The jars are for curing, which is done once it is mostly dry. If you can't hang dry them you should use paper bags of large cardboard boxes. Take all the bud out of jars and hang it in a closet with the air circulation (fan). If you can't do that, you need to get a cardboard box and make some sort rack or drying screen to lay them out on. Worst case you'll have to brown bag them but I highly suggest hanging them or laying them out on a drying screen. You're ruining ALL of you weed, it's going to get moldy-you have to dry it!! Once dry that 1.25 ounces will be about 1/4 to 1/3 of that.

ok, so i took them out of the jar, i put a layer of toilet paper down in the bottle of a paper bag, i spread them out even ontop of it. then i closed the brown bagg and put it in a shoebox w/ 4 dryer sheets ontop on(NOT INSIDE) the bag in the box. i also put about 20 holes in the top of the box w/ a pen. then i put it in my attic in a box lined with tin foil(from when i thought about grownig inside). the box in loacateed in a black garbage bag,(essentially so it's hidden from my parents)

No, your buds need AIR to dry properly. You are trying to do too much, I know you have to hide it from your parents but you can accomplish that without double boxing and double bagging!!! You are making the perfect environment for mold. Closing those buds up inside a bag, a box, another box, and yet another bag is not good. There is not enough air circulation getting to them.

If you don't want moldy weed, do one of the 3 things I'm going to suggest below, the same way.

If you can't hang the buds in a cool (60-70 F), dark place because of your parents then I suggest either drying in a box or a brown bag.

For the box; I would suggest something like this:

Now if you have already taken the stems off and you can't hang them inside a box cut like this it's ok, you can set it up another way. You'll need a cardboard box and a screen or rack. Get a framed screen (a lint screen froma dryer works good for smell amounts) and a carboard box.

Ideally the box should be left open but if you have to keep it hidden you can close the flaps. In a case where the flaps must be closed be sure that you cut several decent sized holes in it so the fresh air can get in. Be sure to check your buds daily for mold.

If you can't do either of these, the next best thing would be to get brown paper grocery bags. Layer the bottom with only 2-3 inches of buds. Leave the bags open to allow air to get in. Again if you have to close the bags be sure to make enough holes for air to get in. Check daily.

Skip the toilet paper! Store the box or bag somewhere where the temp is between 60-70 F, there is good air circualtion, and it's not damp.

anyways i do think that if you want to grow or any of that sort of biz
get your on place and grow there!!
not cool when your parents get arrested and are in handcuffs charged with cultivation of maryjay!

ya i totaly understand man. i'm not growing, i just snipped a couple stalks from my neighbors plant, i had absolutley no idea that they did drugs untill this summer. they are like 40 years old and their oldest daughter in in high school w/ me hahahahahahahahahaha

anyways... i can put the bud in a brown(open) paper bag, and put it in a shoe box w/ a bunch of holes in it,

also i've checked for mold. can't find any.

i'm saving this shit for me and my bro when he comes back thanksgiving.

No do it one of the ways I suggested in my post, a bag and a box is too much. If you don't want to do it how anyone here has suggested go ahead and do it your own way, just don't be suprised when you got stinky, moldy, nasty bud.

BTW did you steal this from your neighbors plants? If so that's not cool at all!
