Hi, I've been lurking the forums for quite a while. Lots of useful info on these forums. Thanks in advance!!

Anyway, heres my situation. I have a closet that I want to use, the measurements are 3.5 ft x 2 ft x 8 ft. Im waiting to get a 600w HPS light (overkill?).Also, I plan on using a muffin fan as an exhaust. Im looking to get the most out of these dimensions and wondered if I should go the good ol' soil way or maybe a dwc/bubbleponics type method.:?::?: And how many plants would be allowed considering the light and dimensions of the room?

Ive had experience in growing outdoors (but this was years ago) and now am trying to go indoors.:leaf:

i wouldn't say that a 600 watter would be overkill.. i just read about someone wanting to use a thousand watter in a small space, and i thought that this was overkill.. you should be able to grow atleast like four nice plants or so under a six hundy, if not a few more..
i too would love to do a little dwc or something along those lines, but i am a pretty newb and i think that it is important to get the basics down before i get all crazy with some advanced growing techniques.. don't get me wrong, i am sure plenty of people start out with hydro, and do fine with it, but i would think that starting out a little more basic and learning to diagnose any and all problems that may crop up along the way will go along way for when i do finally decide a more advanced growing style..
after all, soil is a more forgiving medium than say hydro or some other styles...
well, thats my two cents worth atleast, but i hope that it helps you out some...

Try a DWC hydro set-up with CFL for now. I'm using the set-up right now with great results, check out my gallery.

thanks, I was thinking four myself. And yeah, Ive been reading a lot on hydro techniques lately. Doesnt seem like rocket science but does require a lot more attention to the plants.

Once the ph settles down I leave my grow alone for a day or two before messing with anything. Keeps me from overdoing something.

theres actually somebody selling a Stealth Hydroponics DWC(looks like a rubbermaid with 4 holes), Three 5 gallon DWC with air pumps, and opened FF products/hydroton rocks for $135?? good deal or no?

And to be honest I would much rather use a HPS light than CFL's

I used a 400w hps in a ebb an flow sytem on my first grows and loved it, but for small spaces your kind of limited. Build your own DWC system, 135 doen't sound to bad though. See if he can throw in the nutes.

There is a guy on this forum named Roseman that does a bubbleponics. He goes step by step in bulding it and has quite a following. Look up Roseman's DIY Bubbleponics tutorial. God info to help you decide.
