Aww I see so your grandson I take it is the one who is the grower and grandpa is the financial backer type situation .......the only reason I asked is cause lots of people get into this for pure profit alone and really don't care about health and quality ......I grow soley for a sick sibling who has seizures without her medicine after seeing how it changed her life I started to help a few cancer patients out which I still do ......I do it for no profit just trying to get these sick people the best medicine I can ......I sure hope you and your grandson are guna take that kind of approach to help grow safe quality meds for people ......what your planning is much larger than what I'm involved with I'm a farmer and cattleman by trade so I have ranches and farms throughout the Central Valley but no big huge massive gardens like what your wanting to do .........just do your homework and make sure you pick a mmj friendly area for your plans before you buy .........and good luck to you

We are not doing it for the profit more for the medical I have cancer not on death door step yet knock on wood - yes of course of safe quality local laws are always changing yet at same time confusing much so my county says yes but only indoor growing within 4 walls not green houses yet the state says this and that so I am going to use caution always but its going to be a day to day business
like 2 acres here and there no one large farm over time only because the need is there and we want to be at the patients' door step in their time of need
Thank you so much for your blessing

Also there is nothing wrong with profit if still providing a safe product, I'm not talking 1%er profit just a living. When I started a long time ago it was strictly for profit and I never learn the nuances of providing the best, mostly just the most I could that was potent. I missed a lot doing it that way and now learning how to grow a really nice plant so at least your starting out right, good luck!

@whodatnation has his outdoor game on point, I believe he is in process of doing his final proactive treatment so he may have time to lend some advise, if not he can point you to a thread or two I'm sure, good luck and happy growing:peace:

Hmm, Desert area raise's an eyebrow!

What kind of desert area?
Anything else grown out there?
Soil type?
pH management isn't really a problem - depending on the area and the soil. Could be an area that's salty and alkaline and that's when it gets tough.

The heat aspect is concerning as is water availability......Give us more to go by please.

I grow soley for a sick sibling who has seizures without her medicine after seeing how it changed her life I started to help a few cancer patients out which I still do ......

So awesome that she/you found relief with it, and are able to provide it. Effing amazing what the medicine is capable of. And sounds like you have your hands full with the day job. If you dont me asking, how many acres do you farm/tend?

OP - Ive got no experience with large grows, and not much on a small scale, sorry Im no help, but wish you guys good luck!
