hey guys I got a 400 WATT met halide. Im tryin to figure out how much this light will up my electric bill?? DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIND THIS OUT?????

NEED HELP

look at your electric bill and see what rate you are charged per kilowatt hour. Where I live there is only one rate but some companies charge different rates for peak and off peak usage (night time and day time usage).

You light will use 400 watts every hour it is on. The rate you get charged is for every 1000 watts you use -----> Do the math and it should be pretty close.

It should not be too much it's like having a normal size TV on or 4 100 watt light bulbs on, minimal...Good luck JR

thanks again for the input!!!!!!!!!!

MULTIPLY price per kw/h X usage of appliance X hours appliance is on then DIVIDE that number by 1000 this number will be the cost per day of the appliance

EX. a 400w light at 18 hours a day with the price per kw/h at $.08 is 400 x 18 x .08 = 576.... divided by 1000 = $ 0.58 per day is the cost
