Hi fella's

A little about my self and my current setup before going into detail.

I currently growing allsorts of Autos and photoperiod starins at the moment and have been using Ionic nutes for soil, which I have had some good fun and results, only been using for 3 months but I feel the bloom and boost could be better.

I am in the process/thinking of going from soil to oxy pots DWC, and to be honest I'm rather lost! DWC is all new to me, although I have a friend who has used is meothod for 8 years, asking him would arise suspition of my grow. So what do you long term experainced growers use for DWC as for nutes? I would like a PH stable nute that does not need constant attention and infequent flushing.

secoundly is this spirl dwc worth the money and what litre per hour i need for 16liter bucket?

cheers

Seriously fellas, no long term growers on here using DWC?

Looked at canna aqua range and i believe 200 litres/h better for 16l bucket

General Hydroponics makes two lines of food most people start off with in DWC.The Flora Series which consist of a three part system Grow,Micro,Bloom. Most people use just the Micro and the Bloom and these two combined are called the Lucas Formula. It is used at 950ppm at .5 conversion or 1400ppm at .7 conversion. They also make Nova Series Grow and Bloom and is basically Flora Series combined into one bottle. You can just use Nova Bloom which is also the Lucas Formula. With DWC you wont be doing any flushing like soil.Im not sure what spirl dwc system you are referring to.On the liter per hour for the 16liter bucket are u asking about the water pump or air pump?

I'm slowly coming to grips with it all, I suppose its helpful to know what the strain likes, as in regards of strength. Shame seed companys dont add this! I hear about GH all the time, My brother used it with great results, I suppose i'll have to try it to find out my self, so what would you recommend? I feel micro and bloom, makes sense after reading the link. The only other thing that is my main concern is ph, I had awful problems with this when using soil, though now got its spot on, I really dont want to go down this road again.

I suppose I just want to be able to set it up and forget, without making another newbie mistake, its just nutes that has me a little concerned with e.c but you have sorted that out, thanks

Is there a list of strains with info on thier uptake of nutes anywhere? I know a few strains are sensitive, knowing which ones would be nice!

Swirl DWC is simply the air supply tube running round the inside of the bucket, feeding the stone in the centre, in operation small amounts of air passes out the side of the tube surounding the entire root system with extra bubble/air, I could see needing a more powerfull air pump

I have never used the Flora Series but I'm using Nova.I use both the grow and the bloom formula.I tried the bloom for veg but i like the grow better thicker stems and larger fan leaves.AS far as pH goes in dwc with Nova it has pH stabilizers.I usually set a new batch of food at 1000ppm and at 6.0ph .I like to add about a gal of non pH water (sometimes pH adjusted) a day back to the reservoir. Most of the time you can go a week this way with only having to adjust the pH once a week or so with it falling from 6 to 5.3.I like to let the pH fluctuate to let the plant get a chance to get a range of nutes.Like you said all plants are different, some like to absorb their nuts at different phs.As far as strength goes its the same as ph they all like different ppms, but the Lucas formula is set up to provide your plant all they need at the preset PPMs.The side of the bottle is pretty accurate i have found on Nova to go by gradually increasing the strength.Sativa likes the food more than Indo.Your plants will tell when they want more food by their leaves.Tips burned, to strong pull back 100 or so ppm, color to light or deficiencies start increase. At full strength Nova is pretty stable. Here is a chart that has really helped me out.
