need help cooling down cab~please help

hey guys i have a 2' wide x 1' deep x 2' tall cab that im having trouble keeping cool i have 3 exhaust fans and the temps stay around 84-88 degrees Fahrenheit with only 2 23w cfl. i want to lower the temp to add more lights wish i can lower that down by ten degrees if possible, my casa stays around 80F and my cab is inside my closet. i was thinking maybe getting a bigger fan??? like this http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102825&retainProdsInSession=1

Well I'll put it this way. You say your house is at 80 degrees, correct? At the very best you will only be able to lower the temp in your box to 80 degrees. Now that is under the understanding that the temperature around your box i.e. the closet air is also 80. I would put a thermometer inside the closet and see what ambient temp is there before adding additional unneeded fans. Try leaving the door open.

Yep you need a lower intake temperature. Bring your house temp down to 70-75 With a cab that small and those cfl's temps should be easily controlled with a few fans

okay well i got a 85cfm fan that i plan on using as a solo exhaust and use one of the pc fan that is already installed as a intank. you think that setup will be enough to cool down 6 23w cfls???

It really should be but what I'm saying is realistically you are going to have an increase of a few degrees inside the cab no matter the fan size it would be much more effective to lower your house temp. Best case senerio you'll be running 82-83 with your house set at 80 degrees. Drop that temp down to 74 your cab could be 76-78

well im cutting up a new back panel to place on the back right now i have lowered the house temp to 78 i cant lower any lower for now since my grandma says its cold. thanks for the advice will see how it goes with the new setup

No worries 78 should be effective in getting the temps down to 80 with the venilation you've mentioned. 80 will be fine
