Need help choosing tent package

Not a bad price if you compare to buying the components separately. Be aware though the 220 is about 150w output. Light intensity would be similar to a 200w CFL panel. You could probably get 3-3.5 zips per grow.

As far as commercial offerings the Solarstorm isn't that bad. You're not going to find better LED in a package deal like that.

Buying the components separately, you could upgrade to a 200w Opticgrow lamp for about $100 more, or upgrade to an Area51 RW-150 for similar price, if they are still available.

do you think that the mh grow tent would use more electricity than the LED and if so would it be a big enough of a difference to even worry about

It would use a bit over 300 watts compared to the 220 LED using 165 watts, but it is much more efficient. A 315 CMH in a 2x2 would make for very serious firepower whereas the LED would be mediocre. It's not much wattage either way.

im trying to build a solid LED 2x2 DWC setup to grow 1 plant i am completely new to growing and I want to keep it under $1000 any suggestions on what I should buy as far as parts goes ?

The tent in that combo is kinda short. I didn't notice that, and it could be problematic for a single plant. Most 2x2 tents are a little over 5' and you can get them for around $100. You can also get a fan/filter combo for about $100. Maybe $250 all together with shipping. Then like I said take a look at the optic website

http://opticgrowlights.com/200-watt-vero29-led-grow-light.html

I haven't used them, but on paper they're better than the vast majority of LEDs out there. I believe there are a couple people here who have bought from Optic.

Or, a bit less money for a 150w lamp.

Or if you don't mind building your own light you can build a nice 200w LED for about $300. It would take a bit of time to understand the parts list you will need and how to put it together, but this board would be helpful in that regard.

A 2.5' x2.5'x 6' tent would be a nice match for the RW-150. You won't get max yield with the wattage but the RW light can be used for veg and bloom.

I'd just grab the package deal with the CMH and learn how to mainline. Keep it simple with a basic 3.5 gallon DWC and lucas formula. Replace the bulb one a year.

I think the package may be a little overpriced. Totally agree with Lucas formula, I see they got the site back up and running. Like CMH too, but, going HID in that tent has a lot of potential to cause heat issues. Heat could mean root rot in a dwc if not chilled. Personally, I would also go Hempy bucket with the Lucas formula. Cheap, easy nap hassles especially since dude is a noob. Blurples actually make a strong case in this situation. No heat issues. Dude is obviously going to be a micro grower, like me. And I know how CFL and HID can cause heat issues in a confined space.

The original package looks balanced. Space/light. I still think it's pricey. I might just buy a tent($100), can/fan 6"($150) and probably start off with a Mars LED. Cheap. No telling where the noob will wanna go after a grow or two. Probably wanna do something different.

@gramziedub20 I strongly suggest you go Hempy and Lucas and LED for your first grow. It's cheap, easy and no hassle. If you go with all these exotic methods, you will have to deal with more issues. I've done DWC. It's great if you wanna tweak PH all the time. Not so great if you have heat issues and get root rot.

I have a 315w CMH in a 2x2.5x6.5 tent and it does get a little warm. I'm actually going to ditch the tent and keep in the same closet for better heat dispersion.

Lucas formula is a simple step by side feed regimen that requires only a couple of Chems. GH Maxibloom, Calmag, PH up and you need a PH meter. Lucasformula.com

Hempy bucket is a plain old bucket, 3 to 5 gallon with a hole drilled 2" from the bottom and filled with mostly or all perlite, maybe add 25% vermiculite for medium. Feed every other day after the plant is established. It's passive hydro. Google and read up on it.

Cheap easy and hassle free bro. As long as you just follow the instructs you should have a trouble free grow assuming you are using good genes.

2x2 on eBay ~85$ A-51 150rw-398$, fan/filter combo-~150. You realize that DWc will be a constant draw on your electric bill and probably isn't worth doing, I would do hempy as well...its easy, and you will be able to get good yields

Or a China panel...I would get one that is at least 200w actual

Good genes? You're referring to the seed correct?
