Hey guys im getting ready for my first grow and i wanted some suggestions for lights. Ive grown outdoors but the wholr indoor thing is new to me and im not all that intelligent with all the electrical terms. My grow space is about 3.5 x 3.5 and about 5.5 ft tall. I was looking into leds but there are so many choices out there and so many chinese options that i dont know what to trust. I have a budget of around 400 - 500 and only plan on growing 3-4 in the space. If that budget would work for the entire grow that would be great but if not just let me know. First time growing inside so i dont want to go all in just yet. Thanks for any suggestions

Look in the LED section on this forum.. dont go with chinese blurple lights.. look into COB, Quantum boards, LED strips.. how much can you diy? Strips is probably your best bet but will require some work to build the frame.. you oly have 5.5ft tall so LED may be better since it doesnt need much space between your light and plant.. will also produce much less heat than hps

I am fairly hands on as long as nothing requires soldering. I have looked at these forums and they just throw out alot of numbers that i dont wquite understand lol. Maybe if there is like full kits that comr with everything and just need to be built i would consider those

The kit I linked to takes less than ten minutes to assemble. For a little bit of extra dough(not sure, but I think it's only like an extra $20) they'll assemble it for you.

I've never personally assembled a QB kit, but from what I understand it only requires a screw driver.

Or the 200 watt Citizen kit from Timber Grow Lights is under $300. You just have to build a frame, which is simple enough with a table saw and a cordless driver.

But again, with the low ceilings, I'd lean toward the QB kit.

Also one last question. Would this light work good all the way through both veg and flower?
Yes anything between 3000k and 4000k should work for both veg and flower.. im currently using 3000k and had a very good veg growth.. switched to flowers few days ago cant wait to see how its gonna work out

3.5 x 3.5 tent i would run a 315 CMH light or 400 watts of veros (kit from timber is 459.00 for vero or 300 watts of citizen for 419 but i would go vero). You can get them built too.

I have a 315 in my 4 x 4 and it is not enough light for the tent but wow it does grow well. FROSTY well.

315 would rock a 3 x 3 :)

And i forgot quantum boards. Those kits are pretty nice too.

Johnny is right, they take a few minutes to assemble and hardest bit is wiring the plug which says it all!
I would go with the 320w kit for a 3.5x3.5 though, the 260w kit is good for 3x3 but better for 2x4.

There is also this which you might find useful
