So heres my problem..Live and grow in my apartment. Grow in my master BR. Have a cabinet in my kitchen set up for clones/sprouts etc. In Master BR..1 4x4x7 hydrohut with 9 plants about 10 days to chop...secret jardin 2.5 x 2.5... with 13 veg plants..in my kitchen cab i got 16 sprouts like 5" tall.
From what i hear they go through all your rooms and all your cabinets etc.

I have a few concerns here as i have my kids in the other room. they have no way of getting to my plants or my weed or anything and i dont even smoke in front of them but im worried about cps. i have heard of people getting their kids taken away because of prehistoric laws and attitude towards the best medicinal plant on earth.
also the inspectors might rob me when they see what i have.

I take my health seriously and dont take anything not natural not even tylenol. I also dont believe kids should be subjected to any drug until they can make theyre own decisions ya know what i mean?

So damn WTF do i do? Im kinda cool with the manager i was thinking of in advance just goin in there and droppin that on her. maybe ill just have to hook her up with some nugs once in a while...

any suggestions?

They got you on that federal law line. Bring em to a trusted friends house for a couple days. HUGE pain in the ass but pretty fool proof.

Technically they have the right to inspect their property but not yours. So long as the tents are zipped, and your personal grow cab is closed, then they cannot prove anything.

In much the same way they cannot make a woman open their underwear drawer for inspection you are entitled to the privacy of your tents. For all they know it is a portable dark room for your photography. Or an indoor garden for your vegetables. They do not have the right to look into the tent... And that's the only recourse I think you have here.

I don't take any chances with this stuff, but you're 10 days from chopping, and moving them is ALL BAD! I'd talk to the lady and feel her out a little before dropping the "I'm growing" bomb. Ask about other walk throughs, if they've ever had to evict someone for a bad walk through, like finding a MJ growing op."

I wouldn't worry about the cops. I think worst case here, because you are state compliant, is that they ask you to move-out in X days. If the cops do come by feel free to give them the tour. If everything is on the up then they are required to uphold the state constitution.

Bottom line, if the apartment complex doesn't want you there then this will be their reason. You are going to take a risk no matter what. I say you just play it like you fucking own the place and tell them if they want to look in your underwear drawer they are more than welcome. If they have a fetish for kid underroos... Then encourage them to be a pervert for you. But, under no circumstances, are they allowed to look inside of your portable indoor tent. They can ask you move it, so they can see the carpet beneath, but what is inside that tent and behind those walls is subject to your right to privacy, which supersedes a nosy landlord.

Snow you make a hell of a point. I will fight for freedom and i agree it is my right to do this. Im legal and im not destroying the apartment at all. I pay my rent on time and they have no right to look in my tent. Im worried about my kids and the fact that where i live people do home invasions and steal and rape everything. sucks california aint so pretty i have a friend that had that happen.

thinking of chopping thurs. and moving all my others to my boys house on wed... theyre dam near done and if they dont turn out great i can always make extracts right?

what? i was growing in my apartment near SDSU and I have 2 big dogs. when it came to that time of year wher they want to inspect, i just put everthying in my bedroom and putmy bigass dogs in there with a warning, enter at your own risk/liability sign on the door. and I guess they never went in there because i never had a problem.

normally i think they just put new batteries int he smoke detectors and check that your not trashing there property.

forgot to mention i was more worried about my dogs chomping down on my ladies then i was about them having a issue. i mean in california the worst they can do is call the cops, the cops come and check your recommendation, then take your lights/plants or make you cut them down if your legal and your technically not supposed to be growing in your rental property.

unless you dont ahve a recommendation, then your FUCKED lol

I'm a bit lost as to when they're allowed to look through your cupboards. If they're not built in units then they have fuck all jurisdiction over it unless they have a search warrant. Else they could walk in, see a wallet on your cou/nter and demand to see the contents, no, they do not have that right. I'd be more ocncerned about whether the lease to your property allows the growing of plants or violation of federal laws.

thats the thing, as soon as you ask you get a direct "no you cannot grow" but if your growing then they also dont really have any right to tell you not to since your protected under state law. but im sure a police officer would enforce w/e the leasing agent says, since you singed there contract. I mean, how bad is it that your offsetting your carbon footprint and providing yourself with medication thats not from a drug dealer?

That's why i say check your lease, certainly not ask in advance :D i recently had a similar thing with regard to my lease, the short story was that if my lease does not specifically state i can't do it, and it's not in violation of fire, H&S, planning etc, then him simply saying he'd rather not you do it means nothing, ya might not have that lease renewd but for the time being he's stuck. Like living in a flat and the landlord saying it's not in the lease but he'd rather you didn't smoke, fuck that i'm rolling up a fatty! :)

Two ideas:
1) Lock up master bedroom and say roomie is outta town (and u dont have keys to his room)-show apt minus MBR
or (this one hurts)
2) Go rent uhaul-fill it up-park it down the street er somthing-show apt then set back up
Good luck

Police officers can't enforce a lease, a court can. A lease is a civil contract between the leasor and the leasee. It is a civil matter and police do not enforce contracts.

they have the right to look all around ur apartment, not necessarily look into ur closet at ur private things. Just had an inspection myself & I was prepared to tell them if they needed to look in my closet I would need another day or two to move my private things out I don't want anyone seeing...they told me in advance that all they would need to do was check to make sure all the closets "worked" meaning I guess they slid on their hinges & I was prepared to demonstrate that if need be, as I have a black sheet hung up so if u were to open the closet that would be all u would see. I called & asked them when they had closets on their list, if they would be needing to get IN THEM, & I told them some BS about if so I would have to have my kids clean out theirs. They said no, they just wanted to make sure they worked.

Needless to say they didn't even come upstairs, just a quick downstairs walk through. But I provided them a list in advance of the things that needed fixing. Now, they did inspect my closets last year for "condensation" and they gave notice in advance they would be checking them. Everytime I get a notice I tell them, they have to give ME 24 hrs. notice because I want to be IN the apartment during the inspection. A lot of properties like mine, will say, we will be starting inspections on such & such a date, but they could take 2 weeks before they get to any one apartment & u never know when. By law they must give you a reasonable SAID DATE, not just whenever. They don't like it when I call I don't think but I don't care & because I tell them, they always call me 24 hrs. in advance like I requested.

So if ur concerned, simply call and ask them if they will be needing to get in the closets & then ask them for a 24 hr notice so u can prepare if they actually NEED to get into ur closets and have a good reason for doing so. Good luck!

Since he didn't respond, the standing story will be that he got caught and arrested, so we will see him when he gets out in 5 to 10.
