Hey SLB, I've read this whole thread and I've gathered so much great advice. Thank you for the most helpful post on this whole forum. I started a experiment with 4 bag seeds. 3 sprouted and I pretty much effed myself from the beginning by using MG Organic. I didn't read the bag, I didn't research my soil... Nada! I feel like I totally wasted the last month and over $250 in lighting equipment alone. I have no nutes, no ph or ppm gauges. Here's what I do have, pics will be posted.

3 - 4 week old LST'd girls (crossing fingers on the last part)
3 gallon pots 50% MG Organic 50% sand. (I read somewhere else to use that)
CFL - 12 bulb 23w 2700k PVC home made hood. Mylar coated.
Mylar walls and floors
Spring water (bottled) I was not watering right until this last watering time when I watered till slight drainage from bottom. I'm switching to distilled ASAP.
4 weeks 24 hour veg.
Day 2 of 18/6 (want to veg at this schedule for 3-4 weeks or when branches alternate then dark for 36 before I start 12/12 and confirm sex)

My main question is can I transplant them into FF by flushing and cleaning the root system and gently puting it in a fresh pot of good soil? What nutes do you recommend after this is successful, and for what duration, and length? I would hang cure them for 5-7 days and flush 2 weeks prior to that harvest. Please help and add instructions on what steps I should take? Miracle Grow messed me up!

Also notice the nute burn from MG as I have added nothing!

Also:

I water every 3-4 days when i feel dry 2-3 inches beneath the surface. Room temperature is 72'F-78'F with a ceiling fan. Air conditioning also blows in this room, I can't control that but I'm in Florida so the place is fairly humid 25-33%.

What do you recommend to seal light out of a bedroom door? I have the grow in a room that needs to have a entire door blacked out... I don't want to hermie any possible females.

I've been smoking since I was 14... I'm 31 now, grew up in Portland Oregon, I've spent $1000's on herb. It's so damn expensive to buy anymore I want to learn to grow my own. I'm sorry I am so green I amuse you.

@Bonzi they are 23's. I have the original packaging they came in. I have 12 in there spread out over a 48*20*12 size hood I constructed.

My plants have grown significantly just in the last 3 nights I have switched them from 24/0 to 18/6. It's getting stinks in that room. I can only imagine what it's going to be like during flowering.

I don't believe there are any guides on how to grow a specific strain, unless you are able to find an experienced grower that is growing that strain!

Have they rooted yet? If they have, they're probably putting all their energy into root growth, rather than vertical growth!

You might need a little more light than that, you'll probably only be able to grow one plant to full maturity with that amount of light...

You might have light leaking in to your box during the dark period, this will prevent the plant from going into flowering

You can, but you probably won't be able to remove much soil...and add a little bit of perlite to the FFOF, it makes a really huge difference!
You can use weather-stripping to light-proof the door, btw, they look a little behind for 3-4 weeks and they look a little light deprived, but healthy nonetheless!
You should get a pH meter asap, and maybe use the FF line since you're gonna be using their soil, it should be compatible!

I totally hear you on the light deprivation. I added more bulbs the day that picture and post went up. They are exploding with new growth and leaves popping out of virtually every fan leaf node. I will post more pix in a few days. I'll totally do the weather stripping on the door today too.

So if I don't take them out of the MG Organic soil, and they have been in their 3 gallon pots now for 2 weeks with a fresh batch of MG+sand (50%/50%) can I just start feeding them nutes? I'm afraid of hurting them by disrupting the current root system. What nutes do you recommend?

I really appreciate the help. Yesterday I went into the only hydro shop with nutes and gear and after the sales person asked me how he can help me and asked what I was growing, he kicked me out of the store because they don't condone any illegal activities yet half the product they carried was branded with cannabis leaves. I can't wait to leave this God forsaken state next year and go back to Portland where this is all VERY legal.

hey SLB and anyone else who wants to throw in their 2 cents im on week 3 of vegging under t5s and i wanted to try a technique to increase my yield i got 4 plants growin right now and i cant post a pic yet cause i have to pick up a chord for my camera but would you recommended topping or fiming or lst? fimming doesnt seem too hard but lst looks a bit more challenging as to how much you actually break the stem.
also the guy at the hydro store recommended trimming the bottom third of my plant off of the main stem to give more energy to the top, would you recommended this?

:wall: I was wondering about adding H2O2 to my hydrofarm, which I will be using soon! I have been researching this, not just here, I googled it, too. I guess what I want clarified is this...Can I or can't I use peroxide from my local CVS? I have read to use only food grade from some sites and that I can just buy some at the drugs stores on other. What is your opinion on this issue?
