Need Help!!! 400w HPS

So I've fucked my last plant up and it died, I had 2 cheap grow lights from wal-mart. on a og seed. So since it died and in about 2-3 weeks i should be getting money so Ive decided to get can get my new light. Ive been looking into a 400w hps/mh don't have much cooling but was thinking about getting either just putting a fan on, or getting a cheap portable air conditioner and a fan to circulate it. I cant vent it anywhere, i rent the house, the owner is cool as long as i have my med license(which had before i moved in) and i dont put any big holes into the wall. Im gonna have 2-4 plants. So i have a few questions i need help with.

Will the air situation be alright for the 400w hps?

Where is a good 400w hps under $200?

Would like a kit that had a 400w MH, or are these pretty cheap?

which nutriants should I get?

Fox farm nutes. Get a portable ac unit. Htg supply should have good lights. Read read read. Happy growing.

Plant difference? I grow six plants very well with a 400 watt. Mh hps conversion light. I don't understand the question.

There's another reason to go with an air cooled hood. You can keep the plant much closer to the top of the plants so the get more light. Light drops off over distance.
