Need Grow Tent Suggestions for my 2nd closet grow. Pics! The BLACK

Hey everyone. Need some help for my second grow. I got a lot of help and friendly comments about my last closet CFL grow, which turned out lovely. Hoping to replicate with better results.

Long story short, I moved into my new spot and i have a large unused closet, so you know the drill. I will begin germinating a bag seed, The BLACK, tomorrow. It is currently in the freezer for the night before i throw it in a wet towel and begin germinating.

i need some suggestions for a good grow tent that would fit nicely into my closet. There's so many choices out there and I'm looking to maximize the closet space available with a tent. bellow are pics of the space and measurements of the space available. I hate to buy a tent thats too large, and i've been looking all over the internet for the right fitting tent and I'm having trouble finding one that fits snug or isn't too big.

23" deep by 58" wide and 63" high to the bottom of the first shelf.

Ideally I'm looking for a tent that is 20-22" deep by 4ft wide and 5ft high. I really can't find a 4ft by 20-22" tent that's 5 feet high. Considering cutting the metal rods from a 48"x24"(cut to 22")x60". Has anyone ever attempted this before and had success?

Someone please help me out, i'd be glad to give +1 props for help or suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

To get the most usable space, it may be cheaper and easier to get the plastic sheets (white on one side, black on the other) to line the walls with, and then use one piece for the door attached with Velcro to keep the light in / out.

Grow tents are convenient, but unless you can find one that fits the exact size you're looking to fill, you're just wasting space. BUT if you decide to go that route, please remember that the dimensions for the grow tents seem to be for the poles themselves, in my experience they don't take into consideration the length of the joint pieces or fabric

Good luck.

First paint all the walls matt white floor ceiling the lot. Then i would put 3 flouresent tubes up each side of the room cool daylight spec.Same on the top where the rails is get some flouresent tubes but this time get warm daylight spec this should make the room nice and bright. But it looks like you will only get two plants in the room 3 at a push.Have the lights close to the tops of the plants this will stop the plants from ecomeing too leggy.

Thanks for the suggestions Captain bob and tyke1973!

as much as i would like to just line my closet with mylar or paint the walls flat white, I'm trying to avoid that route. I did that with my first grow, and all though i had success and saved money I really want to have tent to keep the odor/environment under control.

Has anyone here ever tried cutting a few inches off their grow tent poles?
I'm thinking i might be able to do this on the poles as long as they aren't tapered where they connect to the joints. I'll probably try and save money on my tent so i'll be purchasing it on eBay and like you said captain bob, i will have to make sure the the joints are included in the tent length. I'm sure if i cut 2" off the poles to make the tent frame only 22" instead of 24" the tent will just sag a little loose on the frame. I'm thinking i can just tuck it to the back of the closet, which shouldn't be a big issue.

so if anyone has any experience doing this or suggestions I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks again for the suggestions guys.

go ahead and cut the poles to your desired depth measurement...just make sure the tent you are getting has the female elbows that the custom cut pole will fit into...if not, you can pick those up at any hardware store for cheap...you shouldnt have any issues doing that...the tent itself my be a little bigger from that, but not to worry too much...

what are you doing about ventilation/odor control?

Agree with what he said - there's no reason you can't make a contained space by DIY which will maximize your available footprint - you're not gonna get a grow tent to fit that exact size (they're more for large rooms where you want to only have a small room - you've already got the small room).

Also, not sure if you're taking into consideration that cutting the poles is gonna cause the fabric to be much too large and unsturdy - I for sure wouldn't go this route, especially with electrical up in there.

Just rig one up yourself, save money and gain a larger footprint.
