Need computer pro help!!

Ok, so for awhile now my computer has been running at high cpu usage when I have big programs up (50%-100% depending on the program).

I've scanned for viruses with like 5 different antivirus programs, and scanned for spyware with 4 spyware programs, didn't find anything. So spyware/viruses aren't the issue.

When I have small programs up (internet, idle programs), the cpu usage is back to 0%-10% (get's that high from background processes like avast and etc).

So what the fuck is going on? I read somewhere that my drivers are probably out of date, and that's what's messing stuff up.

I don't know... I need pro computer wizz guy advice.

:peace:

HI
Do you know what msconfig is?
if you do, go in and disable all your startup programs except for maybe your antivirus, also document those that you turned off.
reboot
see if that helps.

yup the task manager norm. goes crazy when u dont do anything :D

Go to Start -> Run -> Type : "msconfig" without the " ! Then go to [->->->->Startup]

deactivate evrything u dont need at startup and running automaticly... see if you'r still piss'd off afterwards... ?

But dont stress because if u dont do anything the cpu usage goes up and down ! sometimes i have 90% and arnt doing anything... this just means im 90%ready for something :P:P:P

^^ no realy m8, its just waiting for to do something... Otherwise get yourself Kasperspy !

reformat ;)

best option to a shity pc... I have nothing to say, because if your pc is slow you have shit on it. you'd rather make a partition with the files u want on that. and then format the other partition, then install windows on there... Rejoin the partitions again.... and... oula !!!!

Already tried reformatting.
My PC use to run 5+ programs with ease and now it's being gay.

2.8ghz, 1gb ram, 300gb hd.
Should be running smoothly...

best application i've found is Anti-Spy: Find spyware and trojans, it doesn't use any definition files like most anti spyware/virus software, it basically audits each process on the computer then allows you to decide if it's dodgy or not by providing a ranking... once installed, just right click on the process and click 'check google' and it'll automatically tell you if it's suspicious or not...

definately one of the better programs i've came across.

Have you checked the "Device Manager" for errors and shit? There's obviously something else goin on if you have reformatted the hard drive and still having problems.

Haha trust me, when I get a lap, this computer is definitely getting thrashed

I'm gonna try that Anti-Spy thing, see if it's something I haven't found...

^^ now now, dont do that. Keep the desktop for home use, its much more convenient.

check task manager
Ctrl+shift+ESC
Check under processes.
Organize by CPU usage
tell us whats at the top of the list.

Ditch Windows run osx, or scrap internet explorer and use firefox. Either way go into contol panel, internet options and delete all temp internet files, cookies, etv. Check the box to delete all. Should help.
