okay so hears the deal, i have two plants within a foot of eachother, but the problem is, one is a male and one is a female, i assume one is a female because its small, and hasn't budded yet, yet it sprouted around the same time the large one did.. im confident that the big one is a male because of the irregular buds. (no hairs, just round and green.) I don't really want to kill the male, and im not sure that the female will bud by the end of the season.. do i kill the male? or do i leave the plants alone to pollinate one another??

You really think so? it seems like the female is growing slow its about 7 inches off the ground, where the male is about 2.5 feet off the ground, and im thinking i could harvest the male... wouldn't harvesting the male "buds" be worth saving the male for? This is my first time growing, so advice is greatly appreciated...

Hey if your new to growing like a lot of people on here are I suggest you read the stickies the more experienced ones wrote for people like us. Ive learned a lot but not as much as these people. It will save you a lot of time and typing. My guess is you have a hermie if your male has buds and balls. there is only one way to tell for sure. If the plant has white hairs only thats what you want, green banana or spaid shaped balls on short stems its a male(not worth smoking unless you want a bad headache:cuss:), The last but most common when bought on the streets(seeded) is the hermaphrodite. It will have both white hairs and balls, and will pollenate itself thinking it has to produce seeds to continue the generation next season. It can still have buds but they will be seeded, These usually come from bagseed or if a plant is under stress, heat, cold, transplanting and such things like this. If anyone doesnt agree please let me know Im still learning everyday from reading your posts. Anyway I hope this helps you out, and dont give up this takes a lot of patience. Try indoors if you can and if your not already, its easier to control the environment.

even fem seeds come up hermie like one in five...
my plants are bag seed and female
kill the male even tho he is larger the males always are higher so they can spread the pollen...The pollen sacs kind of look like buds but wont get you high.
The female will keep growing in flower they get really bushy and even if dosent have enough time to finish you will have something with some thc in it....

I know you can get a hermie from fem seeds, I was still under the impression that more hermies came from bagseed than fem seeds, and genetics make a difference. If Im wrong my mistake:) Good luck SK8!
