i just finished filling up 46 1gal pots of dirt for a SOG grow under 2 600 HID lights.
it may have been stupid but i tried to cut corners a bit on my soil mixture. i used Black Gold (organic soil)...FF ocean forest...2cu ft of perlite and the rest was "recycled" soil that i picked all of the roots out of (it was a mix of black gold and ff ocean forest from a previous grow).
i noticed that 2cu feet of perlite between 46 plants has made it look very 50/50 soil/perlite and the soil is more like sand in the sense that it doesnt clump up at all...its strange.
what effect should this have on my watering schedule and general care for my plants? i like to water two times per week or every 3-4 days (once with food, once with plain water).
should the loads of perlite allow the roots to move through the soil easier meaning more roots which of course equals more/bigger buds?
