Need advice on grow tents and lights

Greetings riu.org forums! I was thinking about putting together a grow tent setup. I'm looking at a 300watt led light from sunshine systems. My question is what size tent should I get to go with this type of light. I want a taller single door style (rather than the rectangle double door type) tent so i can grow my plants nice and tall.I plan to use it as my veg and flower box also. Any other opinions, tips, recomdations are welcome! Thank you very much!

Just get a setup from here...http://htgsupply.com/Category-Complete-Grow-Kits.asp
there is also a setup that includes a LED and grow tent. Everything you need to have cannabis planted tomorrow, I also know dudes at the stores i get 25% OFF and free proddy every time i stop by. The double door makes it easier to move rotate and have easy access to all your plants. just choose to open one door if it makes you happy!

Yea dude I haven't really heard many good things about the LEDs, especially not during flowering.

Check out Secret Jarden tents mebe a dr120 or dr 80 or something they make many 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 tents that would fit that LED well. Also as far as LEDs go check out a company called DICON they have come out with KESSIL LEDs which seem to be superior to most LEDs but since they only have a smaller model atm you will need like 4 of them for a 3x3 or even 6 for a 4x4 would be optimal.

Best of Luck
P.S. I own 4 KESSIL LEDs, 2 blues and 2 magentas and plan on getting like 4 reds.

LED and T5 are not made for growing tall plants. The energy does not penetrate far enough.

If you want a tall plant get a 1000w HPS. Otherwise grow several smaller plants or one LST/Scrog trained plant for a lower wattage system like the LED.

Personally, I don't think LED cuts it. Go HPS man.

I start all my plants under T5 for 3-4 weeks...move to 2x3x6 tent...550whps....ventilate well....

It's pretty simple shit dude.

Light energy is a release of photons. Only so many photons are available at a certain distance from the lamp. We measure them with meters and you know them as lumens. The rule of squares says that for every increase of distance by "1" the concentration available is decreased exponentially.

At a distance of "2" there is 1/4 the energy available. At a distance of "4" there is 1/16th the energy available, and at a distance of 10 there is 1/100th.

What determines the distance of "1" is the lighting type. HID bulbs are measure at just under 7 inches from the lamp. Fluorescent bulbs are measured at closer to 3 inches from the bulb.

So at a distance of under 30 inches from a T5 system you are working with less than 1/100th of the lumens advertised.

Perhaps you can for some reason decide to vegetate a huge mother plant under a T5. The plant will grow, I'm not disputing that. What I am disputing is that if this guy would like to grow bud, top to bottom, then he needs a better system. Your plant is a mother plant in Veg for a reason and flowering with that system would be artarded. Way to post something that will only confuse people for a long time.

Rule of squares. Learn it. Live it. Love it. It's light physics and it cannot be disputed. The light can only activate photosynthesis if it is strong enough. You get too far from the bulb and you can't grow anything decent.

To many people don't think about this before they grow +1 for Snow Crash...

Thank you for all the posts your insight is extremely helpful. My only problem with HPS lights is how do you control heat? I want to use a single tent for veg and flowering.
