I was looking at the CFL bulbs at walmart and came across a 6 bulb pack in a red box. They are not in a plastic container but a box, and are only $13 for 6. I cant find the kelvin # anywhere on the box and was wondering if anyone has come across these. Thanks

usually if you open the box the bulb itself has the k rating printed on the ballast. did you notice it said cool or warm? - warm is red and cool is blue.

Do they say "CFL 27 watt = 100 watt bulb"
I purchased 3 boxes yesterday. Excellent buy!
Wish they had the CFL 65 watt ones.............

Neah it says 26 watt and its in a box with red on it...on the bulb itself it says...helical 26w 120VAC 60 hz 390mA FLE 26HT 3/2/sw

FLE 26HT 3/2/sw is listed on this as being 2700k.....flowering bulbs. take a look http://genet.gelighting.com/LightProducts/images/t04/0000000/r00016v-1.pdf

those are 2700k. when they say "general purpose" they are usually 2700k unless otherwise indicated on the box.

Yeah $13....for some reason the purple and blue box are the same price for lesser watt cfl's.....but yeah Walmart always has the best prices and I've dont a lot of shopping.

That's weird the same price?? Every where i have looked there always cheaper the lower in watts they are....

that box is warm white i believe. most of the packaging has green for warm white and blue for cool or daylight spectrum

Dude, that's a green box which is 2700K, you want the box like that with the blue on it for 6500K (daylight)

I buy the exact same bulbs.

Get a sharpie marker and write their K rating on the ballast so you know what is what from looking at them. All mine are marked, 27 or 65.

in so cal the walmarts have 42 watt 2700K cfls for .97 cents

No joke? I may have to pick a few up when i head through there....i made a couple fixtures a while back which had 16 cfls total...probably going to make a couple more for the next batch.
