So that's it for my old pictures. I'm hoping to have some new pictures taken tomorrow and post on Friday. I just cleared out my camera, so it should be a lot easier for me to update lol

Of course Photobucket is crapping out on me now.... figures :finger:
but as promised here are a few pictures of our new little BUKU (Burmese Kush) seedling. Isn't she lovely?

Well hello there sugary, drying hair buds. It's been quite some time since I've laid eyes on you. Your parents have been naughty and keeping you hidden from me...

That's one of the most powerful seedlings I've seen. And coming from me, you know it means something.

Wait til I post an update with new pictures showing the growth since Sunday! We've already gone up at least another inter-node or two. And wait til you see our other two seedlings, which we're tentatively naming "Purple Wonder"! They're from bagseed, containing a mess of different buds, some of which were very purple. We're wondering if this is purple too... hence the "Purple Wonder" name  We ended up with 3 seeds, 2 of which popped within 24 hours! The other, a dud. But these two are very vigorous growers! They popped before the Buku and they were all planted at the same time. Definitely an indica heavy strain whatever it is, with its broad leaves! Pictures coming soon... I promise lol

Unless something else goes wrong.... I'm not even going to go there!

We're using my failed filter cup as an air pot on one. The amount of growth in on the air pot in comparison to the standard cup has been very impressive. And we're less than a week in. No transplant shock with the switch from cup to air cup. That shocked both of us. We were expecting it to slow down to give the "smaller" of the two a chance to catch up. Little did we know, we'd be pushing the one in the air cup to grow harder and faster. This is going to be a fun plant to try to contain! I hope they're both girls! :D If not, we'll have some pollen to play with.... afghooey x purple wonder lol or maybe even brainey.... oh the possibilities. Growing is fun! :bigjoint:

Your micro techniques are intriguing to a power and tech junkie like me. And if you breed something, I'll grow it in my monster system for you.

Edit:
I've grown seeds crossed by a friend before. It grew in my system in such a way even he thought wasn't possible. His seeds were growing quadruple leaf internodes in my system. That's four, count 'em four, sets of fan leaves at each node instead of the usual two. The other plant reached a three fan leaf node, but never caught up to the bigger momma. If your seeds have the urge to grow and become potent written in their genes, my system will bring out their genetic potential to the fullest and then some. It would be fun to grow your genetics out Frankenstein style, don't you think? Lol.

Hopefully the next round will have a bit more tops. Plus, we're thinking of thinning, rather then trimming this next time around. We think that this round is suffering a bit from our extreme trim jobs.

Though, this is a learning experience, and the main point of the journal is to be able to reflect back on the things you did, and how you can do them better next time. And we're already heading that way. The plans for the next batch are to take clones with anything that goes over our 9 inch maximum height to allow room for the initial 2 week stretch in flower.

It's definitely going to be a shuffle...
Trying to catch up with you here...must say the ladies are looking fine!!

I find that eliminating the smaller buds that will end up being popcorn...or just fluff...allows the main colas to produce more dense dank. You don't lose yield, just get better/bigger nugs instead of lots of little ones. I remove the lower branches (lollipop) and let the plant concentrate on 1-4 main colas...so, not more tops...just better main tops. Maybe experiment with one in the next round and see if that works for you?

Did you filter system help with the stink?...I must say it was very slick.

Sorry I have been out of touch, came back from Cali with a bad cold that is sticking in my chest... just haven't been myself.

I've been playing with the next round a bit. I've been focusing on topping/fimming more then anything else. With a few of our "next round" plants, we have 3 tops popping out of the topped/fimmed spot.

The thing that confuses us more then anything else is how many small buds we have "protesting" because they *WERE* branches that we cut off.

I'd cut off more of the lower canopy, but I want to make tincture with trimmings/shake/popcorn. I have a hard time with most medibles, similar to you, but tincture works well for me. I'm not sure why... Maybe the alcohol infusion?

The filter helped like crazy. I haven't smelled the girls unless we open the doors. It's not perfect, but it's functional.

Sorry to hear about your sickness :( I hate being sick. Always feel drained. Get well soon :)

Sorry for falling off the face of the planet! :dunce: We're still alive lol. If you know anything about the pacific northwest, it rains a lot here. Like 3/4 of the year a lot! Well... summer FINALLY showed up and life got busier than I expected! I find it so hard to stay indoors when the sun is out! Plus school being out makes things a little more difficult.

Our girls are doing well, with the exception of MKB. We had an issue (pretty sure it was root rot, but it's still puzzle) and had to chop her early. We're likely to harvest in the next week or two for most everyone. I'll get a picture update as soon as I can get my camera back. I left it at a friends house last night.... and I had planned on doing a picture update tomorrow too dammit!

So, it's been a bit of a long time, right?

Anyway. We harvested 2 weeks ago, hung, bagged, and jarred our meds, and we weighed our yield.

Ready for the numbers?

Cali Orange - 22 grams
Brains Escape - 15 grams
Afghooey-S - 14 grams
Matanuska Thunderfuck - 20 Grams
MK Ultra - 18 Grams
Afghooey A&B Combined - 30 Grams

Making a total of 120 Grams, or 4 ounces, 4 grams.

Enough to make this worthwhile and enough smoke to keep us going for a few months.

It should hold over until the next harvest, with a few additions along the way to make sure that it lasts.

I've got a few pictures to share -

This is the ingenious way to hang the cut branches that Snickerdoodle came up with.

This is the jar of tincture that I've got brewing up. Contains all of the MKB that went sour and all the trichome covered bits that came off while flowering and while harvesting

And these are our jars of curing meds -

That's all for now, folks.

Rest assured that we'll be going back into flower very soon. Just need to get plant heights under control so that we have a uniform height (or at least close to it). Orange Bud and Purple #1 are very tall, AFG A&S are shorter, Brains Escape is reaching for the stars (and she's recently had her grubby little paws chopped off for the greater good) Cali Orange is tall, but scraggly (as is AFG-S). Living in cups for an extended period of time is rough. Especially when you've got a forgetful stoner keeping track of things.

Though, the good thing to remember is that the plants aren't called weed for no reason. Any issues that I've caused should just result in new plant growth. So it's not the end of the world.

Now that I've properly rambled...

Hi, there.

Nice to see your harvest update! Looks great.

So I've been smoking off my harvest for just a little over two months now... smoking at least three times a day during the week and losing count on the weekends. I am actually starting to make a dent in my stock and am now thinking about firing up the ol' grow machine again.

Hoping to see a new journal from the two of you as I start another.
