IN THE GROW FAQS IT SAYS THERE IS AN INAPORPRIATE PROTOCOL TO NAMING PLANTS in the grow faqs it says there is an inapropriate protocol in naming plants f1 f2 f3 is that what they mean?

if you take plant A and cross it with plant B that first cross will be an F1. if you grow a bunch of the F1 seeds and pollinate an F1 male with an F1 female of the same seed stock you get an F2. do it again and you get an F3........
