Hey everyone, been lurking here for a while and learning a lot from the site and just recently started my very own PC grow box for my fiance as she just got her medical license. I'm starting off with this small grow with the 2 free seeds I received with my order before I go growing on a bigger scale just to see how comfortable I am with growing it and adapting to the needs of the plant as this goes on. I'll eventually be ditching one of the plants (most likely the Dinafem seed) when space becomes an issue and I transplant them to their permanent homes. I germinated both seeds since I've read of people running into problems with germinating and figured that I might have that problem also, which was not the case.

The setup:
Currently 3 6500k 26w CFL's for veg (will be switching to a bigger adapter and running 4 lights when I get it)
4 2700k 26w CFL's for flower
2 CPU fans 1 for exhaust and for intake
Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil
Flora Nutrients for when the time comes (Nova for veg and Bloom for flower)

Day 0
Currently the germinated seeds have been transferred into small pots with Fox Farm soil, watered, and covered with small sandwich bags for humidity. Here's to hoping that everything turns out alright :-D

Another PC grow.. excellent.
So what's the deal then with 'medical licenses'? I'm from the UK, so we don't have *anything* like that over here, far too uptight. I understood that it meant you could buy grass from particular places... I din't realise it gave you the okay to grow your own?
Anyway, I'll sub to this thread, as it's nice to have so many PC growers on the go at the same time... May we become wise from each other.

It's probably different in other states and you can look it up on their website. We went here when she was looking into getting her license http://nmhealth.org/mcp

It gives you the okay to grow a certain quantity and in order to qualify for it is pretty fuckin' hard and states differ from their qualifying conditions, but you can always try to pass your condition to the board and have it put on the list. Currently the list for qualifying conditions in New Mexico is:

  1. Cancer
  2. Glaucoma
  3. Multiple Sclerosis
  4. Epilepsy
  5. Spinal Cord Damage with Intractable Spasticity
  6. HIV/AIDS
  7. Painful peripheral neuropathy
  8. Intractable nausea/vomiting
  9. Severe anorexia/cachexia
  10. Hepatitis C infection currently receiving antiviral treatment
  11. Crohn's disease
  12. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  13. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
  14. Severe Chronic Pain
  15. Hospice Care
  16. Inflammatory autoimmune-mediated arthritis
  17. Cervical dystonia
And thanks for the sub, I'm following your grow as well

If you're legal, why waste time with a PC grow? Buy a tent and grow some proper plants man.
Due to lack of funds and preparation and me having free seeds and being impatient. I have a tent on the way however lights I'm saving up for as well as exhaust/intake setup.

And for a tiny update...

Day 5 (Critical + AUTO).jpg
Critical + AUTO

So just a little update... they look like they're doing alright, I fed them yesterday with some BioRoot and will be transplanting them into their permanent homes real soon. I've decided to keep the Critical + in the box since it's an auto and the NL x Skunk an outdoor plant unless someone can convince me otherwise (reasoning behind that? Because I figured that I'll be able to control the Critical + with an lst rack much easier my first time around with an auto rather than a photoperiod plant). I've also received my grow tent and am searching for lights and will be growing what I've intended to be my main grow which is 3 Jack the Rippers and 3 Querkles.

Sidenote: I recently purchased a hygrometer and I've had trouble with my humidity. Noticed my humidity spikes to 36 when lights are off with a temp around 81 and is sitting steady at 18 when lights are on with a temp around 91-96. They are on a 20/4 schedule and I currently have a bowl of water in there. I am contemplating on taking one light out to see if it changes anything or putting them on a tray with pebbles and water. I know the real answer is to purchase a humidifier however I'm not going to put anymore $$$ towards my grow box.

Does anyone know of anyone growing a plant in a grow box with just 2 lights? I forgot the specs of my lights, I'll have to find the box but I believe they were 26w 6500k 1600 lumen bulbs. I'm just VERY surprised that the temp for 3 bulbs is almost reaching 100 when I have two 3" fans running at 30cfm (one intake and one exhaust).

I'm also a bit concerned about their growth since I've read that high temps/low hum results in slow/inhibited growth. Can anyone let me know in comparison where I stand at 5 days of growth and how my plants look?

Ya but he's not growing anything yet. I kind of wanted to know yield and/or problems. I'll definitely be watching his when he gets started, but as of right now I did some searching and found what I needed. Someone has done a complete grow before with just 2 cfls however he had 4 plants and only got about 40g. I'm going to leave everything as is until the plants actually show me something to worry about, which is hopefully not going to happen.

Day 8-1 (Critical + AUTO).jpg

Update! So it's day 8 and I've transplanted the Critical + AUTO plant into its permanent home for the remainder of the grow. The temp and humidity are now (and probably were always) alright, I found out that it was just the POS Walmart hygrometer and actually modded the ventilation holes. It is now reading 80 degrees Celsius and a rh of 30%.

Quick update before I crash the fuck out. Today was day 10 and she's grown quite a bit these past two days, will be putting the lst rack in tomorrow and will train her as soon as she pokes her little head over. I will also be raising the lights a bit to make room for the lst rack and also because I think the lights are a tad bit too close to her now.

The NL X Skunk is still sitting outside however has made very little progress compared to this girl. When the time comes I will throw updated pics of her.

Anyways goodnight!

Looking good. We are on the exact same day lol. My bag seed is just a little further along though I only have one light, but I photograph at the end of the day. SUB'D

Day 15

So she's just chugging along, I raised the lights a tad, supercropped the main stem along with some side branches and started to train her, I know to expect her to start flowering soon so I may also look into fimming some time late next week to get some more possible colas out of her. From past grows I've seen of this strain she starts flowering around day 28 so I will be planning on adjusting my nutrients in addition to my timer from 20/4 down to 18/6 next feeding.

Welp, that's all for now.
I'll check back in with you guys next week with an update and hopefully she'll be on the other side of the rack and looking super bushy :)

Ya, like you said different circumstances. It doesn't really matter though as long as we both get to harvest some good smoke in the end. I also saw that you haven't been giving yours nutrients, do you plan on it anytime throughout the grow?

You got a link on what nutes you're using? I have just been waiting for a thicker stem to start nutes. Haven't bought any yet though, but my soil has little fertlizer liquid balls in it, but they don't seem to do shit. Kind of lost on them to be honest. Stem isn't really getting thicker at the base, but it's starting to look woody. Stem is coming along nicely after the first node, though. My plant is 2.2 inches tall, and working on node 6.

http://www.generalhydroponics.com under "general organics" I've been using BioRoot from seedling up to now and started feeding FloraNova Grow (found under "nutrients" ) with the BioRoot after the second node every 2-3 days with a flush at the end of the week. I will soon stop with the FloraNova Grow and start feeding FloraNova Bloom when I switch to 12/12 and will continue using BioRoot til early-mid flower. I found them at a local hydroponics shop, but you can also order them on Amazon and other places for a decent price. I actually paid $28ea for a quart.

Day 22

UPDATE!!

First off, gotta say it's been VERY cool to see all the other PC grows and their progress thus far, much props to everyone!

Now for the update... she began flowering this past Sunday and she is now 12/12 w/ 2700k lights. Yesterday I did a flush and will begin feeding her FloraNova Bloom nutes next feeding. Her root system is INSANE, she has pretty much stretched from the left side of the container all the way to the right (fully). The top side has also almost reached the right side of the rack with just 2 more squares left to go. She's getting real big real fast, I pretty much have to train her every other day to keep her from reaching the top. The pics shown are of today before I spent some more time training her again, so she's all leveled now and low. Tried to take pics of after training however her lights went out and I did not want to fuck up her schedule so I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow. And without further ado... crappy cell phone pics.

ENJOY!

A bit worried, came home today and found that one of my side covers to my container had fallen off dont know how long but it must have came off two days ago when I watered because there was a small amount of algae growing on the tips of less than a handful of roots. Treated with H2O2 around the area. Will be treating and checking back every couple of days for signs of improvement. Overall shes still looking great and growing just fine.
